Used this laundry mat while staying close. Never have been to a laundry mat, so no experience to compare it to though. When we got there we found a washer right away and placed our laundry in, then realized they dont sell soap detergent at all. Luckily a very kind lady shared her which got the job done. It was $8.50 to wash and a few bucks to dry. The owner came in while we were there and was nice, but He asked if the washers in front of us that recently stopped had our clothes in them, I informed him that they were not ours (which is where I feel this conversation on this topic should have stopped). He then responded with asking me how long the washers had been stopped, I told him only a couple minutes. He then informed me that we may have to remove the clothes so others weren't waiting on machines and went on to tell us a time that he removed someone's clothes and dryed them. He then told us that he then charged them for the service, which is fine, but none of my business. I was waiting on my laundry and removed it immediately and then used the dryer, gathered my stuff and left. The owner maintained the place with the help of his son that day and did some cleaning too. Appears well kept and has baskets and tables to...
Read moreI discovered this laundromat by doing a google search. I live in Waukee and we don't have a laundromat. My 13 year old washer broke last month and its not fixable because the replacement parts are no longer made. I went ahead and purchased a new Speed Queen washer and dryer from Archer Home Center in Adel on July 31st, 2021 and am still waiting on it to be delivered. Evidently Speed Queen is behind on manufacturing due to labor and part shortages from Covid...its completely understandable. Covid really seems to be causing lots of issues for supply chains in multiple industries. In the meantime I am very thankful for the laundromat in Adel. Its clean, reasonable priced...and they take mobile phone payments (so I don't need to mess around with those silly quarters). The only thing that would improve this laundromat is if they were open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm instead of 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. I will miss going to this laundromat once my new washer and...
Read moreI have a task trained service dog. I have her clearly marked as such. Idk who the guy was but he kept on asking me questions that I wasn't prepared for because at any other laundromat I never had any issues. The guy may had gotten the response he wanted if he wouldn't had ask such in a mess up manner. That was our first visit ever and we ended up taking out laundry out and had to elsewhere. If you're gonna ask questions about a service dog ask the questions the way the ADA has them written. Thanks a lot, that really shows that "Iowa nice". BTW: My service dog wasn't causing any problems or acting out in any way. To make matters worse is the bathroom has been shut down for some time. Don't come here if you can't hold it for very long. If this doesn't detour you just let it show you the type of place and people that own...
