The Morning Grind — Restaurant in Adel

I really, really wanted to like this coffee shop, but the few times I’ve been, my orders have been underwhelming and my last visit was absolutely the worst. The drink was disgusting! Absolutely no coffee flavor as it tasted to be pure syrup flavoring mixed with creamer. I honestly wondered if the coffee had intentionally not been added. When I brought the drink back, the barista condescendingly offered to make a new drink of what he said, “you thought you had ordered” and “let’s experiment” with the flavor. Reluctantly agreeing to the offer of making a new drink, while it was significantly better, it was still underwhelming overall. At least I knew coffee had been added in the new drink. A great addition to Adel. The owner s have completely overhauled the building, which formerly housed a dry cleaning business. Preserving the front window is a brilliant move.

This coffee shop was fairly busy for a Friday morning. The barista had her hands full...she seemed to be the only employee in the shop. I ordered a custom latte with cinnamon and oat milk. Solid coffee, great atmosphere. I love that they have a drive through!

I got the Asiago bagel breakfast sandwich, and also tried the breakfast burrito. I prefer the bagel- it was very good! Their scones and cookies are excellent and the coffee is delicious!

The atmosphere inside is homey! And they have some cool swag you can purchase. There are many tables to sit at and have a good conversation.
