I hate leaving negative reviews on restaurants but I could only see most of their dishes getting good reviews if you’ve never had good Chinese food and honestly this place looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. The fish tank in the front is straight up green and I feel bad for the fishies. It feels dank and sticky as soon as you walk in and to put it bluntly their rice is either crunchy or mush, their sauces feel like they’ve been cooking way too long all day, and nothing there taste fresh. Even the poor wontons in my soup had been left to swim in the piping hot broth in the back for way too long and had turned them into slimy mush. Also no one told us that it was cash only until after we ate and went to pay and we had to scrounge up enough to pay from small bills and pocket change which felt embarrassing. If you want cheap mushy/off-puttingly-crunchy Chinese food in Adrian this is the place to go. The only thing that I’ve eaten here that hasn’t made me sick afterwards in the 3 times that I’ve been there was the almond chicken, which honestly if they couldn’t fry a piece of chicken they should’ve closed down, but since they can and everyone in the area is desperate for Chinese food they’re still...
Read moreI was so freaking excited to get Lotus Palace after years of not having it. I had moved down to California for about 3.5 years and it was torture not having my favorite Chinese restaurant. Every time I would go home to visit family it was a MUST that I got Lotus Palace's Almond Chicken. Well about a year ago my family and I decided that it was the right time to leave Nor Cal and head back home for good. Well, upon returning home I found out that Lotus was temporarily closed due to Covid. Well, ig that's my type of luck right there... When I got ths news that Lotus was back on, I immediately called to schedule my order for pickup. Let me tell you, they didn't disappoint me at all with the Almond Chicken I had ordered. My only mistake was not remembering their portion sizes so I ordered 2 of the dinners for my mom and I for around $24. We ended up realizing that one order would have been enough. We ended up putting our left overs in the fridge what we didn't eat and was able to have some for the two of us for dinner the following day AND also a small portion for the next day as well! Even if we had just done two meals a piece from the order that works out to about $6 per meal. Can't really argue with...
Read moreI wish I could go 3.5 stars on this.
I had the egg drop soup, two egg rolls, the crab rangoons and their Hong Shue Chicken with steamed rice.
First, let me just say that I showed up 30 minutes before close and the waitress was super kind and seated me without hesitation. I typically avoid doing that, but I failed to realize the time until I was already seated.
For the food: the soup had a nice flavor but was a bit watery for me. I like an egg drop that has a bit of thickness to it.
The egg rolls were just average, and the rangoons were a bit bland for me.
But the Hong Shue Chicken had nice flavor, a good mix of veggies, and the breaded chicken was on point. I really liked it.
Not much in the way of appetizers to choose from, and the menu did feel a bit repetitive between the meat options. But the price wasn't bad ($17 for all of it) and the main...
