Cavalier's Coffeehouse — Restaurant in Aiken County

Before I could even finish claiming a table and setting up my study materials, one of the employees came up to my friend and I and said "the wifi and tables are for customers only." The first thing out of this man's mouth wasn't even "hello" or "welcome." I had been there for less than 2 minutes before he sought us out and asked for our money. Excuse me for wanting to put my things down first before going to stand in a line that's out the door. It was VERY rude and left a VERY poor taste in my mouth. The same thing happened as our friends found us and joined us. I understand needing funds to keep this place open (I worked as both a barista and bartender, so trust me I understand), BUT there is a better and more friendly way to go about it than this employees' approach. The coffee was good, but that doesn't make this place special at all; finding good coffee in North Augusta/Augusta isn't hard. That being said, I would rather spend my time and money, and meet my friends and family, at a more friendly and welcoming coffeehouse than this one.

UPDATE: the employee that made my friends and I feel this way came up to me to apologize. I appreciate his apology, but it does not change how he made me feel as it was my very first time in this...

Stopped in on our way to the game last night, what a cool little shop, and even cooler outdoor space, we can't wait for cooler weather! Verry good coffee, btw, they have a wild selection of craft beers and wines. The staff is very friendly, almost could be mistaken for a family run business with the way they work together, and the barista might has well been a bar-tender from another time period, you know where you actually have real conversations, not just transactional small talk, it was refreshing to be spoken to like a human and not a robot, my GF was a little jealous I think of the "regulars" and how he knew all their names and was bringing up past conversations, family events and what not, so I guess that means we will be regulars soon 😂. 10/10 reccomend the lavender/Honey latte or a cortado. I hope they keep their genuineness as they grow, priceless addition to North Augusta. Oh and to top it off, they rent out their space too for...

Refused to spend my money on Saturday, September 20 at 14:10hrs. Sat at the bar for six minutes before the “bartender” even acknowledged me. She attended to four other customers who walked up, ordered, received their drinks and departed. She had a nasty attitude and response when I asked questions to understand how things worked since this was my first time in the establishment. It did not make sense to me why I should get up from my bar stool two feet away from the register to hand her my credit card to open a tab. She was inflexible and stated you can “come sit back down after you pay.” Very condescending about a simple matter where I am attempting to patronize the establishment as a first time potential customer. I can tell that she did not care. Did not matter to her whether I stayed or not. Maybe a bad day or maybe just a bad attitude and poor customer service culture? Will not return nor tell...
