My first time here. I love baos. I wish I knew how to make them at home. I wouldn't waste my time in a place like this. First of my server was Caucasian I assumed it would have been an actual Asian joint. It was easy to order online w. When I went inside it smelled horrible like bathroom. There was no one inside except for three young ladies. It was empty at 5:00 p.m. So I picked up my food and first I see that one of my boas was wrong it was fried chicken instead of the crab cake. I bit into the fried chicken boa and it was disgusting it had an aftertaste and it made my stomach hurt. They are definitely using old unchanged grease back there. And it could be why it stinks inside. The hogzilla was trash braised in... I don't know what... but it made the pork belly very dark in color it didn't have a distinct flavor or taste just bad The plating was terrible. The barbecue rib was also dark and crunchy on the outside, which was kind of strange, when I bit into it. I couldn't tell if it was chicken or beef - it was gross. I went back inside to return their trash and get my money back because in this economy I can't afford to be spending money on trash. I highly recommend you don't eat here. find another place like...
Read moreI frequently go to the Mills location and was on this side of town today so I stopped by this location. Every single bit as good as the Mills location that I am used to. I had the Innerharbor for the first time and it was good, I could taste the crab and old bay but it wasn't overpowering. From the specials board I had the hothot chicken which is one of my go tos. It has a nice kick without being uncomfortably spicy and the house made (I think) pickles are awesome. The star of the show though was the hoisin bbq rib bao. (yes I had three baos and tots judge me later) If you like the hyped up rib sandwich that comes out every year or so (i do) then imagine that, but more refined and stuck in a bao. It was fantastic and I will be ordering it everytime I can from here on out. Also had the porkys totchos for the first time (i'm a fire tot guy) and they were really good as well. Cheese sauce, jalapenos, and sour cream; need I say more? I strongly recommend these folks to anyone who...
Read moreThis is what great value for your dollar looks like. If you don't love a good Boa, you might not have a pulse. Soft, chewy, salty, creatively delicious pillows of joy. I've been to numerous places that charge upwards of $10 for a single boa. King Boa has created an extensive menu and even daily specials, boas of all kinds, for a whopping $12 for 3 high quality boas.
These aren't just basic boas. King Boa doesn't skimp on the protein either. I went for the Firecracker shrimp, glen rhee, and kickin chicken. The firecracker shrimp is definitely the best of the bunch. The lemony sauce takes it over the top. The chicken is nicely breaded but lacked seasoning and chicken breast in general tends to be on the drier side, so a thigh would have been the best choice. The glen rhee offers loads of beef and a nice sweet contrast of apple. like I said, high quality and wildly creative!
Never been to any King Boa locations before this, but after 1 visit I'm already sold. I need this...
