Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Alaiedon Township

This was actually probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had. It was a Friday night and they were only staffed with two, possibly three waiters. I can understand that being difficult as I have been a waitress as well, but when we would ask where our food was after waiting 45 minutes, the staff was extemely rude. Not only that, we had to be asked what we ordered again and again. We asked for waters that never came, and our food was delivered plate by plate, ten minutes apart from eachother. Actually, people that got there after us were served before us. No one actually got to eat together. After waiting about an hour for one dish that didn't come out until everyone was finished, we asked for a discount on that specific meal and a waitress was extremely rude to us and showed no apologies. She actually blamed us for being "unexpected". 7 girls on a Friday night? I have never complained about a restaurant before in my life, I can understand the stuggle of trying to satisfy tables. What I can't understand is being down right disrespectful. Even when we were leaving, that specific waitress mocked us. Their excuse was,that they weren't expecting the crowd of people that came in, come to find out from the table of regulars next to us that the football team goes there after every game. All in all, terrible experience, and my friends and I will never be going back..and I will be telling all the other college students I know...

A Delightful Date Night at Applebee’s – Okemos

Last night, I took my fiancée to the Applebee’s in Okemos for a casual date night, and I must say — it was a truly pleasant experience that exceeded our expectations.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth and seated promptly, despite it being a fairly busy evening. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable — the kind of relaxed yet lively ambiance that makes conversation easy and enjoyable.

Our server was attentive without being intrusive, striking the perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness. She made excellent recommendations and ensured we were never wanting for refills or condiments. Small details like that go a long way toward making a guest feel valued.

The food was quite good — everything arrived hot, well-prepared, and nicely presented. My entrée was flavorful and satisfying, and my fiancée was equally pleased with hers. Even the appetizers and drinks felt thoughtfully prepared rather than rushed, which is not always the case at larger chain establishments.

We left feeling content and genuinely impressed by how enjoyable the experience was. Applebee’s in Okemos may not be haute cuisine, but it delivers exactly what it promises: a comfortable, convivial dining experience where you can enjoy good food and good company.

I would absolutely recommend this location for anyone looking for an unpretentious yet thoroughly pleasant...

We came in for dinner tonight (10/26/25) and we were sat in the bar area. The manager was serving us which I found interesting as it didn't seem too busy that a server couldn't take us as a table. The manager then proceeded to talk down to me and over explain a drink promotion even asking me were exactly I had heard about it. I felt this was very rude when he could've just said no and turned me towards other promotional drinks for this season. I did not need the lecture I am not on your clock! We ordered our food and our appetizer was good and my food was good but my boyfriend's burger was cooked wrong and every substitution requested was ignored. The manager couldn't tell the difference between our burgers, something he should've known before the food left the window. My water wasn't even full for most of my meal and the reorder on different food took so long and this manager was so rude we didn't even want to stay for my boyfriend to eat. We will not be returning to this location. You should not be stealing tables from your servers just to give terrible service and act like it's your customers fault instead of taking accountability. If our food had been comped and apologies had been made I would not be sitting here writing this but obviously this man who has been put in charge has lost all sense of hospitality. I hope for the sake of the other employees this behavior is checked by someone in...
