I stopped by Humpy's for a late dinner before a 1am flight out of Anchorage. My husband and I seated ourselves, and waited quite a while for a waitress to come by and take our drink order. We didn't mind or say anything, because it was busy and we had plenty of time to waste before our flight. I ordered water and my husband ordered diet coke. We also ordered our meals at the same time. When the waitress brought our drinks, she brought us both water. She walked away before we had a chance to let her know my husband's drink was incorrect. Since she was so busy and the bar was open, I just went over there and let them know we needed a diet coke because we had gotten two waters. The bartender was super friendly and nice about it. I was trying to help out the waitress by not flagging her back down because the place was so busy. Once we received our food ( I ordered Halibut and chips, and my husband ordered a burger) and began to eat, the food was good. I have no complaints about it. What happened next is the reason I left only 2 stars. As we received our check to leave, my husband asked if we could by chance get a to-go cup for our drinks. The waitress said "no", which isn't a big deal, but then she got really sassy and said, "By the way! You did NOT order soda anyway." Her tone of voice was very rude. First of all, YES, he did order diet coke. I heard it, the lady sitting beside us (who was equally shocked by the rudeness) heard it, and it's exactly what he said. If you get an order wrong, that's fine. We weren't rude in any way about it....but there is absolutely NO reason to be hateful to a customer because of your own mistake ...especially, when the customer went out of their way to help you on a busy night. Customer service is everything in my opinion. I can excuse mistakes, and even mediocre food...but I cannot excuse rudeness to patrons who are being kind to you. What did she think?    Read moreCame home to AK for a quick 44 hour visit (a dear friends memorial service). I made the mistake of thinking that the in-airport Humpy's would have the same awesome food as the downtown location.
Ordered the 1 lb. King crab, and at 1st glance it looked ok, if maybe a bit shell dry. 1st leg was really hot & delicious until I got down to the small end - couldn't get the crab out, stick to the shell. Second leg good to the halfway point.... and I realized that the cook had not steamed my king crab, but NUKED IT IN THE MICROWAVE!!
The rest of the crab was still frozen on the cluster side, and the small ends were crispy-crittered to inedible rubber.
I call the waitress over and hand her a bit of rubber-crab. She takes the plate & goes to get manager who dmiles and offers me a 15% discount on the meal - before even going to look at the plate the waitress has removed.
I told him that was unacceptable because well over half the meal was inedible and one end was still frozen. He offered to remake my meal & I told him no thanks, I have a plane to catch. He goes to look at my plate... waitress comes a couple of minutes later & hands me a bill for my drink.
No apology. Whoever has the Humpy's name needs to remove it from this place or teach their cooks that you DO NOT NUKE KING CRAB!!! (Or any other kind of crab either). A $60...
   Read moreWe ate here on Friday and paid 60$ for our meal then a couple of days later 2 identical charges showed up on our card for the amount of our meal on our way back through the airport Monday I went back to the store to see if I could get the issue resolved. The first person I talked to said she remembered that something about a double charge came up. So far so good! Then she tries to call her manager Christopher to come help with the problem, she calls multiple numbers as she makes comments about him hiding from his phone. Now my confidence is sinking. I wait for a while for him to make an appearance. When he appears he called me by the wrong name and did not care to look up the transaction. Needless to say a very short conversation later all I got was him saying he would have accounting look into it. I have since gotten one phone call from him where he called me by the wrong name again even though he had written it down. Obviously I am upset with him I actually wasnât that bothered until I had to deal with the manager. They did eventually get my situation sorted out so if it hadnât been for my interaction with the manager I would have probably given a much...
