Late Post Aug 23’ The King Salmon Restaurant requires a reservation so, I would suggest as soon as you arrive decide on an evening that you and your family/group want to dress up a bit (but don’t have to) and splurge then, reserve the table asap.
The fam and I decided on a 3-course meal since it was our last evening here. I ordered the Coconut Crusted Halibut with Apricot Chutney, Prime Rib with Seasonal Vegetables and Potatoes and for dessert since I was so full my partner and I decided to share a Warm Apple Crisp and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Let’s break it down…
Coconut Crusted Halibut – Served with arugula, single spinach leaf under the chutney. The flavor was very sweet mixing the coconut and chutney didn’t pair entirely well. Since arugula has a peppery taste, it was supposed to offset the sweetness, I just feel this dish was missing something, a balsamic vinaigrette or chutney could’ve been a bit more savory? 2/5
Slow Roasted Prime Rib – Veggies and Potatoes mehhh cooked well but nothing to brag about… the prime rib tho was soooo damn good! Au jus not to salty and great creamy horseradish 4/5
Apple Crisp – The flavor wasn’t too bad on the crisp, TBH – Don’t remember only had one bite since I was sooo full! 3/5
Seared Scallop Caprese – (Partners App choice) This was delightful, scallops fresh and overall, the dish was well prepared. You should eat it all in one bite although, ok for example cut the scallop in half, grab a piece of cherry tomato, schmear a bit of balsamic, throw it in your mouth and toss in the ball of goat cheese! It was very good, although now that I think about it why didn’t they use mozz instead of goat cheese, I love goat cheese tho, my partner not...
Read moreI think it was our server who butchered the entire experience. He never returned back to the table to take our main/dessert orders. We wanted to order the grilled Salmon on the menu but he was not engaged so we asked another server to bring us the dessert menu. Mario, just dropped the menu on our table and never bothered coming back. All through our dinning we had to constantly ask other servers to trace him. Later, he left the bill on our table without asking if we want to order any deserts or how we like the food. We kept sitting waiting for him to bring the card reader to pay but the guy never showed up. By that time we had had it with his poor/lousy attitude, so we left the cash on the table and exited the restaurant. It is a shame to see that this guy became the reason for others losing on their tips and restaurant on its orders. He saw us leaving but never approached us., very insulting. Must say, the food was good, hostess was very courteous and runners had a very positive attitude. We ordered the salmon chowder and the seafood dip, never got an opportunity to order anything else. We were discouraged from ordering the dip by our server (he said it was too creamy), thank God we took our chances, no regrets. Really wanted to try the salmon dishes on the menu, but don’t think will want to return. I come from hospitality industry and think that on a Friday/Saturday night a restaurant cannot have servers that are slow and lack multitasking skills/abilities. There was a waiting line and here we sat occupying a table waiting for a server, who knows how many seats/customers were in same situation. It’s all about managing/balancing the...
Read moreWent here twice hoping that the first time was just a fluke. The first time, the salmon was dry and overcooked, the prime rib was way too salty, and the king crab was overcooked and dry also. We couldn't eat half of our meal. The second time, the prime rib came back well done instead of rare as we ordered (picture attached). The salmon pasta was so salty it was like drinking saltwater. My party and I never sent a dish back before but we had to now. Even the waiter apologized about the prime rib when he took it out. Unfortunately, there was no more prime rib so we had to order something else from the menu, which we were still unhappy with because we've encountered an issue with almost every entree. The other entrees were either out like the chicken or things we didn't like. The halibut appetizer is also overcooked and dry.
Edit: We reordered and got a salmon and halibut, specifically asking for rare. It came back extremely dry and well done, even more than our previous orders of the same items. The halibut was so dry it was like unmarinated dry chicken. They still consistently forget to give us silverware after taking it from us between courses. Be careful ordering the sprite as it comes out as unflavored sparkling water sometimes. They don't upkeep the...
