So you can probably fit three or four Texases (Texi? Texides? Whatever the plural of Texas is) inside of Alaska. And you know how they say everything is bigger in Texas? Well well well, it's even that much bigger in Alaska, I tell you hwhat. I ordered the Omelette which comes with 4 fillings and $1 more for each additional filling. I picked bacon, sausage, and cheese. They make it with 4 eggs. This thing was bigger than my regret of not buying Bitcoin in 2012. And it came with toast and even more hashbrowns than there was omelette. That's what I couldn't finish in the picture of my plate. There is so much meat inside of me currently right now at this very moment. I thought they would have out my picture on the wall, but nah, that's just what you get when you order the normal size. They do have a 2 pound hamburger challenge. That'll get your picture on the wall for sure. I know I said I was gonna start inner mitten fasting after I reviewed the KBBQ place in L.A. but I think now will be a good time to try again. Just remember, "I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never gonna get me down." If you fall just get up and try again. I know the holiday season is around the corner, but you really can reach your weight goals through proper diet, exercising, and a vat of discipline. We'll do this together. We're in this together. Anyways, if I was Gordon Ramsey in Kitchen Nightmares, I probably would have torn the whole thing apart with my knife and fork, and said "Wow....look at all this meat...it's like they put the entire hog in here" and then taken a tiny dainty little English bite, and sent the rest of the plate back to the kitchen, and then waited for my French onion soup to be brought out. But I'm not Gordon Ramsey. I'm Joey Buss. And that's why I ate the whole thing, even the tiny piece of bacon that fell off the plate onto the table, and that's why I'm giving this omelette 5/5 stars....
Read moreI usually dont do this, but my wife and I had dinner here. I had a $15 burger that was decent-- it would be debatable if its worth $15. My wife ordered chicken fried steak... $16. I am not exaggerating when i say that if u ate cardboard, the chicken fried steak is what it would taste like. The gravy had potential but was missing any hint of taste that one would expect from any chef that is paid for their services. The corn that came with it had zero taste. If i ate it blindfolded i probably could not even guess that it was corn. The place itself has a weird atmosphere. Its trying to market itself as the place any celebrity must go to as the quintessential local restaurant, while maintaining what feels like dead air to the ears for the faithful old timers. I wanted out as soon as i sat down-- the hubris of the place made me queasy. The back of their work shirts boast "not trying to make everyone happy, just a solid 75%." When i saw that i felt like the time a swell acquaintance invited me over to his friends to discuss a business venture and realized within five minutes that i was his recruit for a ponzi scheme. I politley told the waitress how bad the food was, then the manager came over, offered us more crappy food which we denied, and then they took our two drinks off the bill. ARE U EFFING KIDDING ME!!! U charge $16 for the worst chicken fried steak of any dive, truck stop, effing anywhere, and comp our drinks?! We barely even touched the food. I get that people want to support local family owned businesses, but come on have some respect for the families that come in and spend their hard earned money expecting just a semblance of a good meal and friendly atmosphere. Seriously Kriners, stop the bleeding. Close the doors. Sorry i didnt...
Read moreI’ve NEVER ate here but I just read a story about someone that walked out without paying but 9months later came back to pay his debt n said he was in active addiction when he walked out without paying but he has been 100% sober for seven months and he was sorry about his actions while he was in active addiction. He had said he was sorry and he hopes the owner wasn’t mad the owner had replied he was not mad but he was proud of him for getting better. It takes a real man or woman to simply say it’s OK and let it go they could have very easily called the cops and had him arrested for stealing even though he came back and paid for it although it was nine months later he still did come back. And the owner was a real man a real human being that understood that the man was just down and out and having a hard time. Thank you to Mr. Kriner for being so understanding. I was in active addiction for 20 years and I’m finally doing very well for myself in the people that have given me a second chance I really am grateful for so this story really made me feel good to know there are other people out there that have a heart and understand people do get better and people do change for the better no matter what their story was or is. Thank u again Mr. Kriner!!!! We need more people and more business owners in this world like you!! Understanding and forgiving!! Your amazing and I’m sure ur diner is just as amazing...
