Additional update: We keep coming back, because we love the food and drinks. Recently the service is improving. The new gal seems to be doing a great job! Experienced and very aware. But they still kind of struggle when it’s busy. Update: We have been back several times now. We honestly love the food and drinks so much! But when they are slammed the service is still lacking.

We actually LOVE this place when the service is on point. But we have experienced both ends of the spectrum. Tonight we arrived during the dinner rush and instantly regretted our decision to even come. There were only 2 people serving/bartending. But neither of them can multitask! We luckily ordered our first round and food right away. But had to specifically request the free chips and salsa, ask for napkins and then stopped eating our dinner when our beverages ran out and needed drinks. Waited approximately 25 minutes before shouting across the bar to get a second drink. And then before our food was even gone the kitchen crew (who delivers food) took our salsa to another table?! Zero communication! And service was a serious struggle. We do love the food and drinks. But not sure if I can tolerate coming back based on the 2 hour time frame for food-truck type quality food and no...

I used to come all the time to Blue Agave, and loved the food and drinks. Today was super rough and may keep me from coming back. My friend tried to order the special on the board for St. Patrick’s Day and the bartender didn’t know what I was talking about. I pointed to the board 3 times and then he said the mojitos don’t have flavors. I told him it is written that you can add flavor for $1. He made a mojito and didn’t even add rum or lime to the drink. The asada steak had a ton of fatty pieces which isn’t the worst thing, but the meat is always top notch and today it was below average. I was empty with my margarita for over 15 minutes and the bartender didn’t even notice so by then I was frustrated and just ready to leave. Very disappointed in the evolving door of bartenders that seem to rotate...

I went here with my Dad and my partner a week or so ago and the vibes were kind of weird. Both my partner and I felt like we were getting weird looks from the bar patrons, perhaps because they were not thrilled that we were there to talk and have dinner rather than drink in silence. I would say it’s not a restaurant, it’s more of a somewhat divey sports bar that also serves food. There was also a slot machine that made noise when played. It was pretty distracting and annoying when I was trying to talk with my family. Nothing really against this place or the people who may frequent it, it was simply way more sports bar-y and divey than any of us thought it would be, and not the ideal place to have...

Big Flavor, Good Vibes & a Blue Hawaiian 🌺 Blue Agave in Albany? wow, they do not play when it comes to flavor. This spot had me hooked from the second I walked in—welcoming vibes, fast service, and plates that came out looking like love on a dish. Let’s get into it: The shrimp ceviche? Fresh, zesty, and gone way too fast. Tacos de tripa? Crispy, rich, and straight-up addictive. Tacos de carne asada? Juicy, and giving main character energy. And don’t even get me started on the Blue Hawaiian—it was smooth, strong, and made me forget I was in Oregon for a second. Gracias 🙏

If you're looking for cocktails or margaritas past 9:00 p.m. in Albany, choices are limited. We had a great time at Blue Agave with there several choices of margarita flavors and late night tacos. (Owners the same company as El Machine, so no wonder the tacos were delicious) They've got a few TV screens around with various games on them in Spanish and in English. Great and friendly service.
