Excellent Customer Service. Great pizza. They just need to sell pitchers of beer 🤣. PizzAmore wasn't our first choice but they will be from now on when visiting Albany. This experience actually started over at Abby's down the road......Abby's lost out on a $300 sale because of HORRIBLE customer service. It started outside in the parking lot. We all just got finished hiking and decided to have a beer before going inside and ordering. We were scolded by an employee and told not to be drinking beer in the parking lot. I understand the law and don't understand why the pizza place employee was so concerned about us drinking outside. They didn't serve us the beers so if anything it's a public intox with no liability to the restaurant. Then we went inside to order and the cashier wanted physical ID for everyone who would be drinking beer. Everyone had ID on them but one was a picture on a phone and the cashier said it wasn't good enough. After providing everyone else's ID and verifying we were all of age (none of us are under 33) one in our party wouldn't have been able to participate. So we left. We took our $$$ and went to PizzAmore. We received welcoming open arms there, EXCELLENT customer service AND no ID check because clearly everyone wqs older then the 21 year old that took our order. PizzAmore had delicious food and we spent well over $200 almost $300 there. Thanks to the Abby's Pizza lady we had an even better experience where we were wanted and appreciated. 0 stars for Abby 5 stars for...
Read moreMy experience with PizzAmore is a very interesting one. I've been there several times and most times I have been very pleased with my meal. Prices for the menu items are very good for non-pizza and average for pizza, but their pizza is excellent if you order normal (not the flat, which I wasn't too keen on) pizza. Overall, I would say this place is better than both Pizza King and Cidicci's. Despite their good food and prices, one time I went there I noticed Christian music playing in the background. As a rule, any restaurant that does this I automatically give 1 star to and never return, because I don't want someone to push their religion on me when I dine out. I had this place rated 1 star for quite a while due to that, until the owner of the restaurant actually replied to this review letting me know that the Christian music was playing by accident after the person who opened the restaurant that morning forgot to change it. Any owner that cares enough to reply to my reviews I will gladly give a second chance to, so I did indeed return and they had Jazz music playing. It seems they have corrected this since I've returned two or three times since and it's always been Jazz. I am pleased to be able to continue my patronage to this restaurant now that they rectified that issue, and I can say that this is one of the better restaurants in Albany. The one primary thing I would add is a full bar, and perhaps create some specials to make the pizza...
Read moreEDIT: First miss. Phrases I had to say out loud..."Nothing in mozzarella or dough should be green" and "I don't need to be part of the team meeting. I just need a refund." and "I don't have time for you to call someone. The pizza you got right is getting cold." One star removed. I will go back. But I will be much more direct in the need to not get this wrong. This isn't a food preference. It is an allergy (nightshades) compounded with an intolerance (allium).
Honestly? This is just a really solid choice for pizza. I don't know that I'd put it up for awards in a competition. But the chance you'll be disappointed is almost zero. I've tried everywhere on both sides of the river. Pizza Amoré is the place I trust. The only recommendation I'd have for them is to fresh grate whole milk mozz daily for a more melty experience. Their current cheese has got about 10% too much chew for my personal preference. But outside of Chicago or New York, or a couple of hole in the walls I've found... this is a really solid choice. I'm settled on Pizza Amoré being my go-to in Albany.
Other than that, my only complaint is décor. But I'm not there for the interior design. Still, the dine-in ambiance is a little direct. Not bad. But it needs some cohesive branding and UX optimization. Not bad. But, not wow. Again... I'm there for my favorite pizza in town.
Get ya some. You're not...
