I visited Club Mallard recently with a group of my sketching friends as part of our drawing adventures at places of intrigue and renown throughout the East Bay and SF Bay Area. This Albany-based establishment was a fun place to draw what with Buffalo Gil mounted monitoring the action and listening to conversations behind the bar. Other artifacts include a ā€œVelvet Elvisā€ portrait. There is a hunting lodge feel in the area opposite the bar as were two pool tables. Stepping outside in the back area is a kind of tiki bar atmosphere where small groups can also gather, though I’m not sure if there are any stuffed critters there.

GREAT SPOT, AMAZING BARTENDERS. GREAT VIBE. Spot that the locals have loved for decades displays retains much of the original flavor, spot we can go and get a cheap drink, play a game of pool, meet someone have a conversation, and decide that you either want to be friends or never want to speak with one another, but either way stiff drinks and a game of pool will soften the blow, or warm up the entry point for a hot new Romance. That sounded wrong

Stamp your boarding passes. Travel to the cabin in the woods to the Hawaiian inspired patio or lido deck. You can enjoy a ā€˜snake bite’ asked a created by the bartender with care and in good company. This local watering hole is more than one would expect on the path along the bay.

We went to this place today to have an experience we work around as bartenders and servers so we were hoping just about goodbye for the day and then the manager for that day. We only ask to have a different drink that we pay for it that we didn’t like, and we didn’t drink it so we just want something different and he got really defended and ruining say that he cannot serve us anymore and we can you sleep and it was a shock because I’ve been there so many times and I never have that experience before. It was just really crazy about that. I feel like a man you’re always should try to make nothing employed by the customer have what they actually want to come back and get it for cause it doesn’t really matter what they have in the restaurant but it’s really matter what they bring to the table to offer for the restaurant if they make good drinks, people is gonna come back and get more But a free drink. It was horrible. I actually say today it was missing stuff and to drink and I didn’t really care about it. I just want something else and he got so defending me. He want me to pay for that when I already pay for my first thing and I didn’t like it and I actually I didn’t drink it and he was so rude about it. I actually didn’t not remember but he’s today working jun 28 at 8:00 pm go somewhere else this place is not worth. It’s other restaurants and bars. They’re really nice they make you feel really comfortable and welcome to their bar. This place is not worth it. They have really bad...

It was all good until I closed out my tab and one (of the eventually two) bartenders sarcastically said ā€œthanks for the great tip !ā€ I chose to ignore the fact that I heard it because I still had my fresh drink I hadn’t even started to drink yet and he said something smart again, saying that he’d hope someone who spent 80+ dollars would leave a good tip. In which I said ā€œ I’ve worked in the service industry before therefore I prefer to leave my tips in cash ! If only I could possibly drink my cocktail first before leavingā€ šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø He had to walk out to cool off…. I’d plan to visit again but not anymore. Never in my 26 years have I had someone ask/complain about a tip!! Plus it took about 10min or more to get a drink served, by the time we waited for anyone to take our order and get served, there was only 1 tender and the place wasn’t even busy or anything…..

Not my cup of tea, hope everyone else’s experience is...

Used to be my hang out and a cool place but maybe I'm too old... The bouncer is a d*©μ and no real need to be. I used to know the people that worked there and they were abrasive at times as well but this guy was not even humorous just waning his big attitude not just unpleasant or rude, that I kinda expect, no this guy was acting like he was this big name for a nobody in a nowhere spot he should stfu. The Bar tenders are funny and aggressive and abrasive but funny or at least one at a time they will stfu if you tip well and are not a jerk or an idiot or if you're one of those you had probably be a regular and Damn Well tip. I'm not impressed but the drinks are good, meh... The decor has not changed so at least...
