First time eating here and i have absolutely nothing bad to say about the waitress's but the owner is rude and unapologetic. They started getting kinda busy as we sat there so things moved a little slow and we waited a while on our food but we understand. Its not fast food and the place was far from empty. The real problem started when we got our food. My mother in laws food was cold. We all three ordered meatballs with our food and they came out and only one of the meatballs was done. I said something to the waitress and she agreed when she seen what we was talking about because they were red enough that they didnt have a done texture. We did not want it taken off the ticket, we wanted it fixed. She brought some more out and once again one was done, one was pink ish and one was RAW. As a cook myself i know how DONE meatballs taste and look. So when the owner tried to come to my table and say that they ARE done and we are basically mistaken, is what rubbed the wrong way. We do not eat medium well steaks or hamburgers so we do not eat medium well done meatballs. The sauce WILL dye the meatballs on the outside to a certain point but all of the done meatballs had a done texture and the inside was brown. The point is that the owner tried to tell us it was not under cooked but the waitress even noticed the difference when we showed her. Staff coming to us to apologize and the owner wanted to act like we are wrong. guess what? Thats not professional. We spent over 70 dollars in there and Just wanted the meatballs fixed, we was not trying to get anything for free but that is how she acted. i took plenty of photos so im leaving this here for anyone that doesn't know how rude and unprofessional the owner is. All that and we still gave our waitress a tip because none of it was on her. *Here is a photo with both a cooked meatball and a raw one. If it was all the way done it would not have been a completely different...
Read moreThis was our first time eating here. We ordered the cheesesticks and onionrings. The onion rings are not housemade, they are frozen but as good as frozen onion rings can be. The cheeseticks are also frozen; not what I expected from an Italian restaurant. For my main dish, I ordered the cheese tortellini with alfredo sauce. The waitress told me the Alfredo sauce was bland and that she wouldn't recommend it. She said "they don't even put garlic in it". 🤷♀️ I ordered it anyways. My husband ordered the lasagna. The lasagna and the marinara sauce IS housemade. When my dish came, I asked for fresh parmesan cheese.... they don't have fresh parmesan cheese, only the shaker of cheese that you put on pizza. I had to add salt and a lot of parmesan to my alfredo sauce. I couldn't taste any butter and it was missing the garlic s well (as the waitress warned). Just not the taste I would expect from an Italian restaurant. All in all, it was decent. I would probably eat here again but make sure I order something with the housemade marinara sauce on it. I would definitely recommend giving them a try yourself and judging your own opinion 😉 I make my own alfredo sauce, so I like fresh parmesan cheese and garlic...
Read moreEdited: I'm not on here to argue with anyone. I did file a report with Albertville PD, but I have ZERO proof that I didn't write a tip on the tip line myself and it was my fault, in part, for not marking through the tip line on the store's copy of the receipt. I know what I'm talking about. Also, I didn't encourage anyone to avoid this establishment, I simply advised them to either mark through their tip line THOROUGHLY or check their bank statements. I appreciate the offer to come to Giovanni's to talk about this, but why would I? Your reply alone implies I'm untruthful. I don't do confrontation; I just take my business elsewhere.
The food is amazing. It's voted best for a reason. However, WATCH YOUR BANK STATEMENTS! I always tip my server personally with cash. Always. After looking over my bank statement one day, I realized they had been taking it upon themselves to add a tip to my bill. Researching further, I found it was EACH VISIT! After my telling the cashier that I'd already tipped with cash. This was my hard lesson to mark through the tip line on a business's copy of the receipt! The cashier, each time, was one of the owners. The blonde...
