Charlie's Tavern — Restaurant in Albion

As other reviewers have stated, it's an older feel to the decor but probably what you'd expect in a small town with laid back atmosphere.

The food, however, left a lot to be desired. To be up front, I wasn't expecting Michelin star quality but I was expecting it to at least be mostly edible. My companion and I ordered fried mushrooms, mushroom and Swiss burger and a ham sandwich. We both got the basket size (the other size is just the sandwich alone). I asked for coffee and ice water and my friend got a can of Pepsi and water.

The fried mushrooms were completely inedible as they were still frozen in the middle. The mushroom burger tasted like it came from the freezer and my friend stated that the was more salt on his sandwich than the were on the fries.

Again, to reiterate, wasn't looking for a top of the line meal. Just something...

Wwll, my order was messed up tonight didn't notice until I got home then I get up there to pay and it's an entirely different total than what I was told on the phone. Person that rang me up did make it right so that was cool. But the last 2 times I've called and ordered for pickup I've had to repeat things multiple times to whomever answers the phone up there, and it's a pretty simple order, the same everytime nothing different . It's not like the place is loud or ever super busy that I seen, so it's just annoying at this point. Then it's just awkward silence until someone hangs up. I will say the pizza is good though that's why I want to give this place a chance but I will say my order tonight was not the best I've had up there and please get someone else to answer the phone because...

Visited on a Saturday night. You would think it would have been busy but sadly besides one other person and the staff we were the only ones there. We didn't eat just got a couple drinks. Oddly there were no bar stools at the bar, instead they just had tables and booths. This was my first visit I'm guessing they're more of a eating place. Staff was friendly, people were coming in to get carry out. Looks like it could be fun. I just can't help to wonder why no one was there. I was told by locals the food was good. I'd be curious to stop in again get a bite and see if anything...
