The place used to be a Pizza Hut back in the day, and it is quite evident from the typical shape of the building's roof, to the interior, which truly feels like you stepped back in time to 1978. From the baby plastic dishes they use to serve the chips and salsa (the tiniest tortilla chips I have ever seen in a restaurant, with literally one spoonful of salsa, see pics) to the plastic plants used as part of the decoration. I had the huevos rancheros, which came with 2 sopapillas, corn (or flour, I chose corn) tortillas and beans. I had coffee with this, they charged me almost $4.00 for it, and the waitress only came to refill my mug one time despite the place being empty, not busy at all when I was there. The huevos were served in this funky green plastic-looking skillet, which made it look quite unappetizing, the dish came with rice but you couldn't tell because it wasn't mentioned in the menu, and because everything (eggs, tortillas, rice) was covered by the shredded cheese, the salsas, and the refried beans. The rice was hard, undercooked and flavorless, the sopapillas were fresh but rather small, and instead of giving you a bottle of honey, like all real traditional New Mexican restaurants do, they give you 2 packets of honey, which cheapens the whole thing even more. Service was ok, neither rude nor pleasant, but you could tell the server was either having a bad day, or that she'd rather be somewhere else. The bathrooms are filthy. The only good things I can say about the place are that it is relatively cheap (about $19 for "chips and salsa", the huevos, the 2 sopapillas, and the coffee), and that there's plenty of parking. Other than that, I would try to find some other place to placate your New Mexican...

I stopped in for breakfast around 9:30 on a Friday. Not crowded at all and I think there was just one person doing everything (another company fallen victim to The Great Resignation?) He was very friendly and personable. My meal arrived timely and was good.

Why two stars? Because I didn't get what I ordered. I noticed he didn't write my order down, but some people have amazing memories. Not this guy.

I ordered scrambled eggs with sausage, hash browns and whole wheat toast. I got fried eggs with bacon, hash browns and he asked me to remind him what kind of bread for the toast when he brought my plate. After noticing the smell of burnt toast, he told me he burned it twice because he kept forgetting about it.

I debated returning the food to get what I ordered but the thought of throwing out half the food seemed wasteful. It wasn't what I ordered but it wasn't going to kill me eat it.

As mentioned, the meal was good, but it's hard to screw up cooking basic eggs and bacon. The hash browns were also good, neither over nor under cooked. My meal was not extraordinarily delicious, but how do you make basic eggs, meat and potatoes extraordinary without turning it all into an omelette or skillet dish and adding lots of other ingredients?

If my order had been correct, I'd probably rate my experience a three. I'm not opposed to returning, but I'm not compelled to return based on...

I have consistently received poor service from this restaurant. the previous time that I have ordered from them they failed to get my order right and upon entering the restaurant I found out that they had not even put the order in or wrote it down in the first place. An order that was supposed to take 15 minutes took almost an hour. Just today 8/17/2020, I ordered something from the menu that I have always ordered. After entering the store today I was ignored even though I knew my order was being assembled right in front of me. She spoke in Spanish and continue to ignore me until my order was done. Then I found out that each of my items somehow cost an extra $2 more than usual. She refused to show me the receipt and set the items on the counter across from the register. Upon asking the cashier what the reason for this was she simply said "Our prices have gone up you can either take it or leave it." Idk if it was because they got upset because I complained about my order last time or if simply because other racial issue I'm not sure but the situation was very unprofessional and quite frankly rude and uncomfortable. If you are a New Mexico native I would feel comfortable ordering from them but if you are a tourist I...

Holy Moly! Delicious! New Mexico's quintessential red chile bacon burrito is perfectly manifested in physical (and spiritual) form at Bea's this morning. Just South of Central, the atmosphere radiates a fine and beautiful balance of some of the cultures of NM. An essence of Anglo-caucasian cheese radiates from the Wisconsin stop sign outside; the gorgeous Native designs and pueblo ladders emanate a calm, peaceful, and natural spirit throughout the restaurant; handcrafted with love - the pretty Mexican flower art on the walls, and lovely flower pottery hangs near the South windows; the Spanish ristra artwork showing proudly along the Zia in the Bea's sign. Timely and portions of plenty! Super friendly staff! Highly recommended!

I used to live in ABQ about 16 years ago and this was my favorite place to eat authentic delicious NM food. I returned to ABQ this weekend and first thing this morning I went straight to the restaurant and I was so happy to see it survived the pandemic. 16 years later and the food was frickin delicious. The prices were super cheap and I ordered everything. My waitress was great. If you want good authentic New Mexican food come here. I ordered the Chile relleno plate, a tamale smothered in green, 2 beef tacos with amazing salsa and my wife had a breakfast burrito with no Chile because idk and a bean taco. haha. She said it was great.
