I don't know how I missed this place for so long because it's definitely by far the best pizza I've ever had anywhere in New Mexico and possibly anywhere outside of the New York City / New Jersey area. True, it's in a terrible neighborhood, but when we went on a Sunday night there were no fewer than FOUR police cars parked right outside and a whole bunch of them eating dinner in the restaurant. It was just my son and I and we had no difficulty polishing off an 18" large pie with pepperoni, mushrooms, and black olives. Perfection on a plate; the mushrooms were unusually flavorful and the pepperoni delightfully crispy on the edges. The crust was delicious and there was just the right amount of oil. Even the crushed ice in the coke was noteworthy. My only very slight complaint is that the Coke had a faint hint of Dr Pepper, which is definitely not a good thing. There was a fair amount of take out going on which is always a good sign. Decor is fascinating. Six stars warranted.

Best Pizza I’ve had since living in Italy. This place is a gemstone. Their crust and ingredients, especially the oil taste so fresh, it’s the closest to authentic I’ve had. I always get the calzone which is absolutely amazing. The only drawback is you have to pay extra for sauce. Most places give you at least one side. I refuse to eat a calzone any other place in town. The ricotta they use is amazing! I’ve also tried their cannolis. It’s hit or miss on who makes them on if they’re a deal or not. I’ve had them when the shell is hollow and they just put a spoon of filling on each side with chips and dust the top or I’ve gotten lucky and had them filled. When they are filled, they are a delightful treat and I’d highly recommend them. Give this place a try. Hands down best pizza place in Albuquerque

Friendly staff and great tasting pizza! Coming from the east coast, not a single place compared (sorry, not sorry it’s the truth). A good majority of places in New Mexico we’ve tried have been bland and tasteless, but NOT Giovanni’s. Their ingredients are very savory and the slices are thin and can be folded. We agree that they have the flavor and taste consistency of back home Jersey, Philly & NY style, and for that I am grateful. I would say it’s on the expensive side and wish they had promo coupons, but we haven’t seen any… and sometimes the crust is burnt, but that’s minor. Every order has been easy and consistent other than that. So thankful this place is here, thank you Giovanni’s!

If you want overpriced pizza and to waste your lunch hour and end up not eating anything because you spent the time waiting the whole lunch hour, this is the place!

Their food is not that great that they have a right to mistreat their paying/tipping customer. When you promise your customer the food to be done at a certain time and it’s not- that’s a 0 star in my book. Part of any company’s selling point is their time of delivery. Why do you think Amazon is so successful? Because they promised a two day delivery sometimes even same-day delivery. Not here.

The Experience: I got right in at 11AM and ordered (just 2 pizzas, not that difficult) was told it would take 30 mins, and then they added another 15 mins.. and then proceeded to add another 5 mins. My husband stopped by and sadly had nothing to eat for his lunch hour and left. What good is your word if you don’t adhere to it? I don’t care how good the food is, if your service sucks then the rest of your company sucks. I paid the amount, gave a 20% tip but was disrespected with the time.

It’s the principal really that I’m upset about. If I’m quoted a time, it would be done, then stick to your quote you gave me.. had I been told it would take an hour, I could respect that.

It was my first time here, was recommended by a coworker, but I WILL...

We totally enjoyed this terrific New York Pizzeria and met plenty of great staff people while there and found out that Giovanni's has been a beloved Albuquerque Pizza Landmark for over 30 years. While there... simply by chance, we met a very sweet and lovely lady named Dana Zito, who kindly gave us a considerable amount of her time until the dinner rush called her away and back to work she went.

This past August 30th, Mrs. Zito tragically lost her husband, Rosario Zito, who was shot and killed during an armed robbery outside of his Pizzeria soon after closing. Mr. Zito was the owner of Giovanni's Pizzeria.

Soon after the shooting Dana Zito said, to a gathering of family and friends, "my husband was, is a real man, he was a protector, and he's with God now, and that's where he needs to be. We'll just try to keep going. He loves each one of you and we just got to get through this together."

Giovanni's pizzeria is a real gem in Albuquerque. If you love pizza - do yourself a favor and drop in for a pizza or an Italian meal... and you'll be glad...

I went...2nd person in line. Placed my order and sat... and sat. 3 patrons got their food before me. One of those seemed to have placed their order earlier. Because 2 of those patrons were already finished, I looked in the back and saw an order...waiting. I wondered if it were mine, but the busy man was taking order after order, I assumed it was not mine. Especially because another man was bringing other orders out. I finally got up and waited to speak, but the busy man continued to take orders. He finally went to the back, but didn't get the pizza from up top. He took another order then went back again, gave the order to the people in the back... by chance he looked at the pizza-waiting up there and brought it up... he said, Sorry About That, then immediately began taking orders again. Gosh! Wow. I'm a quiet person, but wished I was loud and rude , demanding at least an apologetic soda, or maybe parmesan and red pepper flakes to go with my pizza! There's a bright side, people. My pizza was cool enough to eat when I got it home....
