Scooters was my go-to place in New Mexico, here on San Mateo, but after being treated unfairly, I’ve decided to deactivate my account and will no longer patronize this store. I went in and ordered a Caramelicious Latte with two extra shots, but I received a regular coffee instead. When I returned to the store, the employee acted indignant, saying, "Oh my bad, you don't make mistakes like that." A regular coffee costs a couple of bucks, about $3, while my coffee was $9.
The next day, I spoke with the manager, Angela. She acted like it wasn’t a big deal, saying the employee probably just made a mistake and that it was a regular coffee that tasted like caramel. I told her that was impossible because the pricing was different, but she dismissed my concern and made excuses for the employee. As a result, I will no longer be returning to this store.
I had to drive across town to work and then back again to exchange my coffee because they don’t answer their phones. I’m not compensated for the time I spent doing this, and I’m frustrated by the fact that the employee gave me the wrong order because I didn’t give him a tip.
In today’s economy, it’s hard enough to afford a cup of coffee. If I could have tipped, I would have—I’m a waitress by trade, and I understand how important tips are. But I work for $2.85 an hour plus tips, while he makes $13 an hour plus tips. It’s not about the tip, though. It’s about the fact that the employee was disrespectful and disregarded my needs as a customer, giving me something I didn’t order and knowing I’d have to return or take the loss.
For Angela to make excuses for this behavior is unacceptable. That’s why I won’t ever return to this store or this...
Read moreHello all. This is my first review of a coffee house. Growing up the only coffee around was black sludge, or brown bitter stuff that made vinegar taste like sweet syrup. Through the years folks have asked me to try this and that coffee; black, cream & sugar, flavors, and I found none that I liked or could tolerate. Eventually I find the a cold mocha latte wasn't so bad, but still not all of them were good. Finally, someone made me coffee and it was not bitter. I couldn't believe it. She took the time an explained roasts, beans, etc to me. I was and to begin to understand to love for this beverage. However, certain green logo companies still have nasty coffee and nothing can cover up that flavor (my opinion). Now, Scooter's! A few people had mentioned it so I tried it. I opened with a simple coffee with c & s. It was rich and smooth. No aftertaste or bitterness. Next tried the Blended turtle. Yes, this was incredible! Oops! Just remembered I'm a diabetic, so I found they offer sugar-free options. Life is good!! Equally as good, if not better. Great flavor and not as sweet showing the coffee flavor too come through more. Just goodness. I have tried the English muffin sausage sandwich. Honestly, a little lackluster. Their muffins, however, are delicious!!! I tried the blueberry and, yes, they are great! All in all, give Scooter's a try. Scoot up to the window and enjoy! I say they are here to stay and will definitely take busy away from others! (But this is ok, others coffee...
Read moreWent to this location on 2 ocassions. The first experience was exceptional. The attendant was friendly and the drinks were made to order and the cups full. This service made me come back a 2nd time. Exactly what any business wants right, repeat customers?
Anyway, the 2nd experience was the polar opposite of the 1st visit. The attendant seemed annoyed to have a customer. The drinks...the drinks... ordered two 24oz mochas and a 16oz. The 16oz was full as it should be. Both of the 24oz drinks were filed to approximately 1.5 inches below the lid. I decided to keep one of the drinks to measure how much liquid was provided. To no surprise, the total volume of liquid in the cup measured less than 19oz .... in a 24oz drink order.
I will not be going back to a scooters location again after being taken advantage of. Shame on the management/staff at this location for allowing this activity. If you need to cut costs, there are other ways to do so rather than scamming...
