McDonald's — Restaurant in Alcoa

I want to applaud this McDonald’s location and I am excited to explain why.

First, I was craving McDonald’s (I’m 7 months pregnant) and decided that’s what my boyfriend and I were going to have for dinner. I was at target, so the closest location to me was the Foothills location. I placed a mobile order and was there within 5 minute of placing the order. We had waiting 25 minutes in our curbside spot waiting on the food. The car beside me also picking up curbside had been waiting quite sometime as well. The cars in the drive through were piling up as well. We lost patience and my boyfriend decided to go in and see what the hold up was. When he was waiting in line, there were 2 other people complaint about their food order being wrong and wait times. When he got to the counter, our food had been sitting on the counter, just not being brought out to us. He told them it was probably cold and they REPLACED our fry we had ordered. When he brought the food out, my ice cream was dripping off the cone, our drinks were slightly watered down, our burgers were cold, and mine was made wrong. He was infuriated because he wanted to go home long before getting our order, and with all that was wrong he just was pleased. I told him I would take him home and go back to get it replaced.

When I made it home, he had offered me to go to the Calderwood location and place a new order as opposed to go back to the Foothills location and give them the opportunity to mess it up again. The Calderwood location is a bit closer to our house, so I went with his idea. I placed my curbside pick up, and headed on my way. They brought my order out within 5 minutes of me being there, my burgers and fry were FRESH and amazing. The lady who brought it out was also so sweet. I had asked for extra pickles on my burger (lol pregnancy craving) and they understood the assignment. I will from now on always come to this location no matter what! I am very impressed for a fast food place to have a 10/10 experience.

Probably the worst McDonalds in Maryville. It's close to my house, so I've been here a couple of times, but I almost always go out of my way by driving to the airport McDonalds rather than order here. They frequently deliver the wrong order, service is very slow, management is poor (they never seem to staff enough people), etc. I remember one evening I sat in Drive Thru for 30 minutes with only 2 people ahead of me because the genius in charge of their scheduling put all their new hires at the window on their first day on a SATURDAY.

Editing: I am coming back to throw more onto this dumpster fire. Decided to come here today for the first time in a very long time because I was working and just needed something quick. So let me walk you through this experience and you will know exactly what to expect if you work here.

Drive Thru was a mile long, so I went inside to order at the counter. No staff waiting to take orders, so great start already. Went to the self-checkout kiosk. The air immediately hits you as the restaurant itself smells like vomit. My shoe sticks the floor as if you are stepping on something sticky. Not just in one place, mind you, but everywhere in the store has that sticky floor feeling. Order takes 30 minutes (the entire span of my lunch break) - ordered a plain double hamburger with a medium fry and a sprite. Got a 4 piece chicken for my coworker. Simple, not sure why it took so long. They deliver the food, I open the bag and immediately notice that they gave me a regular hamburger and not a double. So I paid more for less. When my coworker opened the four piece chicken, they were all cold, as if left out for a long period of time.

So months later, has my opinion of this location changed? No, and honestly all the staff should be severely reprimanded. This place looks like a health risk and should be...

Started off the journey using the mobile app and was excited to get my free medium fry-yay fries. Only had to buy a $1 item to receive the deal, so BOOM I buy a cookie in consideration of how hectic it is to carry out an ice cream cone. I park in 7 and wait for my curbside. Hmmmm, what's taking so long? It's been 5 minutes and I got the bare minimum, even a minor could serve this order, so I look over and notice THE ONLY 4 ADULTS probably working, all smoking. I've heard this place was bad for leaving minors unattended, yet I didn't beleive that 4 grown adults could leave kids to fend for themselves. I feel that is very likely against child labor laws. Finally! My food made it out after a 12min wait. A singular cookie and medium fry is all that needed to be walked out. I go to eat a fry because that's what we all do first. I went silent and quit chewing. When I tell you these frys were put in a bucket of old grease and refried at least 2x, I am being 100% honest. They were so bad that now I have free dog treats for the next couple days. On the other hand, the cookie was un fathomable. It was so far from fenominal, that the best words to descrive it is the astroid that killed all the dinosaurs. The cookie was stale enough that if I threw it at the employees through the window, they would be sent to the hospital on life support. Moral of the story, if you see a bunch of old greasy people smoking outside. It is minors running the inside fighting for their lives unattended and getting paid a maximum of $12 to do a better job than their employers.
