Today I had a massive craving for a bowl of chili. I decided I would head towards Wendy's. As I approached windies I seen the soup kitchen was across the street. I knew Wendy's head really good chili but I was up for a challenge to see if the soup kitchen had good chili as well. I go inside , and place my order. I Order today special, which wa a bowl of chili with a grilled cheese and a Pickle. The mail also came with a bag of chips, the Drink cost extra. I couldn't wait to dive into the bowl of chili so without adding anything to it I grabbed my spoon and took a big bite. Well............ To make a long story short I should have ordered a bowl of thick tomato sauce and a really good grilled cheese sandwich. That's a big thumbs down on they soup kitchens Chili. I probably used a 1/2 a shaker of pepper trying to add some Flavor to the chili. I even crushed up my bag of barbecue chips and dumped a spoon full in. I crushed Up some crackers Added a spoonful. Each time that I added a spoonful of something, I ate a spoonful to taste the chili. There was nothing I could do to make this chili taste better with what I had to work with. I think I may have figured out the ingredients. My 1st Taste of the chili was that of hormel canned chili. The rest of my spoonfuls of chili tasted like pure tomato sauce. I would like to suggest that the soup kitchen experiment with a little more flavor and meat to the chili.

Alright guys, this place is such a cool little stop. I went here for my lunch break and was not disappointed. 1.) Atmosphere: The place was reminiscent of an old diner which gave homey vibes. Could not be happier with how this place feels 2.) Food: The food was incredible! I’ve heard their sandwiches are good but I just got their signature soup, Chicken Curry, with a grilled cheese, and I must say it was an amazing soup that really lifted my spirit. It felt like it was made with love ya know? 3.) Service: All the staff were so friendly and so kind. They were patient if you didn’t know what you wanted and give GREAT recommendations if you are unsure. Overall, this place was fantastic. I couldn’t be happier with how this place made me feel. Pleasantly full while lifting my spirits with a kind and great recommendation. 5/5 will recommend ANY DAY, ANY TIME, ANY PLACE, plus it’s locally owned which makes it 10x better.

Went to the Soup Kitchen today. I ordered the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. It came with a pickle and chips. I opted for the plain Lays potato chips. The lobby was not too busy. When I walked in I had 2 in front of me ordering food and one behind me. The staff were very courteous and friendly. The sandwich was ok. It was very salty and I did not even taste any chicken. When I opened the face of the sandwich I did see there was a lot of Ranch dressing, a large piece of bacon and the chicken was there but it was very thin and very crispy. The taste of the sandwich was overpowered by the saltiness. It did have a crispy bite to it. Not sure if that was the chicken or if they toasted the bread. Overall I rate my experience as average. I should have tried the soup. Next time I will go with my initial thougt and get a cold sandwich and maybe try a bowl of soul.
