Atwood's Bakery — Restaurant in Alexandria

I ordered my son a birthday cake from this place 3 weeks in advance prior to his birthday. I sat down with the guy and I had photos of how I would like it made. I was at work and my sister picked up the cake, It wasn't like I wanted it, they told me they didn't have all the materials. I should have called and checked up on it, I'm like you all should have called me, I came to you 3 weeks in advance. He told my sister he couldn't refund me my money. So I went up there to talk to the manager after I got off work to see if I can get some of my money back. We started talking I told him you all should have called me in advance if you didn't have the materials to make the cake I was asking for. I trusted you with my cake. I told him what kind of business is ran like this that you can't communicate with your customers. I guessed that set him off talking about his bakery he got mad, got red in the face, threaten to call the police on me if I didn't get out his place, he said a few words and so on. The guy that took my order for the cake was looking in shock and he told me he could only give me a 100.00 back i took the money and got the heck out of there before he called his family on the police force. He showed me his true colors I will never order or refer nobody here again. I guess I wasn't white, I gave it one star because at least the guy that took my order for the cake was nice enough to give me something back for the cake...

The owner, she is one of the owner is very rude and unprofessional. I waited over a hour for some shrimp and grits. I told two different employees several times what I had order and they went back their several times to check on my shrimps and grits and she gone tell me they didnt have my ticket and didnt no what I order. How you dont know when I'm telling you my exact order. Then you have other customers come and sit down and they get their food in about 15 minutes after I been waiting over a hour and after I mention that to you them the first thing you holler you want a refund. Very biggity and have a nonchalant attitude. I will never go back their she is very rude and the customer service is horrible. You cant tell me because the cashiers was young they didnt know what they was doing and didnt tell you all. That's a lie they told the cooks and whoever else was back there because everytime they came and told me yall kept saying five more minute You knew you just didnt care. A professional owner and a person with good customer service skills would have said this customer have been waiting for over a hour go ahead and get her shrimp and grits ready instead she was rude and still didnt know how long it was going to be and ask me did I want a refund. I always come to atwoods for every occasion and they are usually consistent and offer very good service. I will say the inside is always clean and the phone service has always been nice, however some of the inside workers can be a bit rude, but it could have been a long day for them so I can overlook that. I got a cake and cupcakes for my daughter's birthday party, I sent them all the pictures about a month or so before hand, they had them all ready on time which was great and as expected however the cupcakes didnt look like the pictures. The colors of the cupcakes were so dark and they blended together to make a muddy brown color, they were supposed to be bright colors. I had someone pick them up for me since I was busy doing things for the party that morning so I didnt get to check them but there wasn't enough time to have them remake them anyways. Overall, they got eaten so it wasn't that bad I guess, I just wish the colors actually matched the party ❤️ thank you atwoods for being very attentive with the time and consistent great tastes of your cakes, maybe just have the bakers take another look at the pictures emailed of the treats before decorating! I will add photos of what the cupcakes were supposed to look like and what I got for further explanation. But the cake turned out...
