I recently visited Javi P’s Fresh Mex for the first time, and unfortunately, it will also be my last. The level of unsanitary practices I witnessed was absolutely unacceptable. The staff was using the same gloves to handle everything—including food, surfaces, and even their own face. I personally saw an employee wipe their nose with their gloved hand and then continue preparing food without changing gloves.
As a healthcare professional, I cannot stress enough the importance of cleanliness in preventing disease transmission. When I politely asked the manager to change their gloves, instead of addressing the issue professionally, he became aggressive and disrespectful. Rather than ensuring proper hygiene standards were followed, he chose to argue and make the situation even more uncomfortable.
This experience was beyond disappointing. Cleanliness should be a top priority in any establishment serving food, yet this restaurant completely disregards basic sanitation protocols. I strongly urge others to think twice before dining here. I will never return, and I sincerely hope management takes steps to correct these serious health violations before...

This time when we came in on 8/25/24 after work, a young man (white guy with black hair and thin frame) walked in right before us. He happened to be an employee. I looked at my husband immediately because he wiped his nose with his hand while walking in the door. He didn't wash his hands. He walked behind the line and put on gloves. I always know what I want before going but I hung back because he definitely wasn't fixing my food. Unfortunately he started fixing my husband's food. Shortly after, a young black lady walked up to start fixing my food. GREAT! Read moreWe recently ordered from this Mexican restaurant and while the food itself was tasty and the staff were friendly and helpful, our experience was unfortunately soured by the behavior of the manager or owner. There was a mix-up with our order — I received the wrong food — but the staff quickly corrected it, and I really appreciated their prompt response.
However, what was deeply concerning was how the manager/owner treated the staff. He was openly rude and dismissive to them in front of customers, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. Even worse, after I had already touched the incorrect food, I informed him of this, and he still attempted to serve it to the other customer it was meant for. That level of disregard for basic hygiene and customer service is unacceptable.
Because of the manager's behavior and poor judgment, we will not be returning. It's a shame, because the staff and food deserved...
