When I arrived Iwas seated by the exit door by a window filled with plants. I was asked if I wanted a glass of wine, I declined and wasn't offered anything else to drink. I started with the spring rolls $9.00 very spicy once I took the peppers out then I could eat them. Sea Scallops $30.00 they were only seared on one side instead of both sides. But hD good flavor. The pickled asparagus had a really strong pickle taste. The wood mushrooms had good flavor. Then on to the high point of the meal. The raspberry buckle $8.00 was great. When I first arrived I wasn't asked if i wanted to sit inside or on the patio. Four other groups came in while I was dining and were all asked what kind of table they wanted. It made me wonder if your a single dinner you don't get a choice. During my meal there was flies and small other flying insects possibly baby flies. The music was playing loudly over my head and was enjoyable at all. I did get hear the staff complaining about things and gossiping while drinking wine. If I'm not mistaken it's illegal to consume alcohol while serving alcohol. Even if it's not illegal it doesn't look good. Will I eat at La Ferme again most likely not.

La Ferme – A Hidden Gem for Lunch in Alexandria, MN If you're in Alexandria or just passing through, make time for lunch at La Ferme, located right on Main Street in town. This cozy, welcoming café offers a relaxed, counter-service experience — you order at the front, and they bring your food to your table. It has a farm-to-table vibe with elevated comfort food that’s fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. We stopped in for lunch before a wedding with a group of four and left completely satisfied. Each of us tried a different sandwich, and every one was a hit. My wife had the roast beef sandwich on gluten-free bread, which held up well and was packed with tender, perfectly seasoned beef. I went with the Cuban, loaded with tasty pork, ham, pickles, and mustard — a flavorful, classic combo done right. Our friends enjoyed the Italian and Chipotle Chicken sandwiches, and both gave it a thumbs up. What truly sealed the experience were the cookies — warm, fresh from the oven, and absolutely delicious. La Ferme is well worth the stop for lunch: unpretentious, inviting, and full of flavor. A local gem in downtown Alexandria.

Let's describe the restaurant - a french restaurant "out of place" in Alexandria Minnesota. So they serve sandwiches at lunch and dinner as a necessary way to provide interest in the restaurant. But - they have a very interesting french style dinner menu as well. Intriguing. We were traveling and our anniversary was while we were in Alexandria. We wanted something special, and a french dinner seemed cool. But wait. They had a "chef's table" as well. Not an everyday thing, and not inexpensive, but - a chef's table in Alexandria Minnesota? We were totally there. A five course meal, wines accompanying, and it was totally delightful. We often blog our travels, and we wrote pages about this meal. Kudos to Matthew and Amber!

This place is beyond excellent! Everything was amazing, the atmosphere, the staff and especially the food! Very nice place, waitstaff were very accommodating and friendly. Service was prompt and our table was tended to often.

We had ribeye steaks, with sauteed greens and a red wine reduction sauce and garlic mashed potatoes. Everything complimented eachother very well and not one flavor was more overpowering.

This is very much an upscale type restaurant, but feel free to leave the suit and tie at home. If you want a nice place to go with company, or date, this is the place to be. Quiet enough to carry on a conversation and not be drowned out by other people or general noise.

The food is amazing, the chef is very talented, and they have a variety of food options that change with seasons and what is available, good selection of beer and wine, or if that is not your cup of tea, they have plenty of non alcoholic options as well, and locally sourced ingredients bring it all together.

Menu is a little expensive, but the price you pay is worth it for the excellent food and service you get in return. I travel for a living and have eaten at many a restaraunt, and this was by far, the best steak I've had in many years. It was done exactly how I liked it, which is not often found.

This is a hidden gem in the lakes area and is worth going to atleast once. I will 10/10...
