The weather really favored us on this visit. The theme at the museum was the lakes and life on the lakes with a focus on the Alexandria MN area. I learned the city has a history of being a resort town. There was an exhibit about " Out of this World" that feature boats and space age design during the time of the Cold war space race. It was a great theme and myself and my mom loved looking at all the different boats. There was also a backyard outdoors area near the lake. It had a bridge over a brook, a band shell and just a lovely landscape. We enjoyed walking around and sitting at the gazebo with a nice view of the lake. Read moreWhat a great place to stop at, this is not far from the interstate and is well worth the stop. It has a collection of antique, beautiful & wacky watercraft and all sorts of other memorabilia, motors and history related to the many lakes in Minnesota. In the backyard of the museum there is a meditation flower garden, with a stage, gazebo and benches! You can take a stroll about and relax for a while before continuing your trip.
