Ramparts Tavern & Grill — Restaurant in Alexandria

My wife and I came to dine at Ramparts Tavern on Saturday February 22nd, 2025. The entire restaurant was Freezing 🥶 Cold and my Wife could not relax or take off her coat 🧥 because she was practicing tribling the entire time. The entire staff at Ramparts Tavern are Beautiful and Family Loving people. The service at Ramparts Tavern is top notch but the temperature and atmosphere of the Restaurant is literally freezing cold. My wife and I spent over $100.00 for dinner tonight and nearly got frost bite because the Restaurant was so ❄️ cold. This entirely ruined our Dining experience because, we are already in the Winter Season. Please 🙏 Fix the Heater in Your Restaurant Please! When I looked around the entire restaurant, "All I saw was Customers refusing to take off their Overcoats at the Dinner Table" because the temperature felt like we were all in Alaska. It does not make any sense for it to be Freezing 🥶 outside and then you come to a Restaurant to have dinner and You continue to freeze inside a Restaurant. The bad review is due to the rudeness of the staff. I ordered a particular item cooked a certain way. I explained to the server when I ordered it exactly what I wanted. Said I had been there recently and it was perfect but a different waiter. When it arrived it was undercooked. I sent it back and had to chase down the server. He was nice but not very helpful. The manager or whatever he was was incredibly rude. When I walked toward the kitchen to make sure my food was getting recooked he confronted me like I was an intruder (I didn’t go near the kitchen I was by the bar). Very rude and standoffish and cold and uncaring. I have dined at this place before and it wasn’t like this. I asked for some kind of discount because the extra time it took to cook my food caused me to miss the bus. It also ruins the dining experience because you have to wait an extra 20 minutes and then they want to close and give you dirty looks. Anyway the manager or whatever he was (really can’t believe someone would be a manager with that kind of attitude) came to my table with his nasty demeanor and asked if I enjoyed my meal. I said yes but the meal being undercooked caused me to miss the bus since I had to wait to have it cooked again. I went to Ramparts Tavern and the managers were so nice. The bartender Christian introduced himself. He chatted with me which was nice. However, I had an experience at a neighboring restaurant across the street and he was the customer next to me. They charged me for a soda water and gave him free to go containers. I have spent a lot of money dining there so I was disappointed about my visit this last time. I just felt like they were picking and choosing who they charge.

Before I finished my wine and was about to leave Rampart Tavern he brought up my google review in detail. I thought it was totally unprofessional. It was really none of his business and made me feel very uncomfortable. Me and the two managers were the only ones at the bar so I don't know why he brought it up or who he was telling the story to?
