I just went to Z Burger in Alexandria and was pretty p*ssed to see an extra expense/charge listed as “Service & Packaging”. This is absolutely unnecessary when it’s not disclosed. Unlike typical taxes which are required by law, a “Service & Packaging” is not a requirement. If your overhead needs to be lifted then maybe increasing the price of the food is a better way to approach this. This is my first and last time I go to a Z Burger. Other establishments do not do this to their customers and neither should you. The young Latino man at the register was nice and respectful so when I asked him about the extra charge he said that the owner charges everyone no matter if they’re dining in or taking it to go. He was just doing his job. About the food, the double cheese burger had zero taste, the fries were supposed to be Cajun (seasoned) but they had about a 1% Cajun taste to it. I had to ask for more Cajun seasoning and the issue is with their Cajun seasoning, it sucks!! Zero Cajun taste to it. The dining room was dirty. When I walked in the place was dead and employees standing around, yet the tables weren’t wiped down and still greasy from the previous customers. I’m not happy about this place but like I said, my first time and last time I go to any Z Burgers. This is what I get for cheating on my fav Five Guys burger spot. They kicks these guys out of the water with flavor, pricing, cleanliness, great atmosphere and overall just a great experience. I won’t make this mistake again by coming to a Z Burger. ***NOTE*** you will pay for that “Service & Packaging” fee no matter if you dine in or take it to-go.

Never again! It's been a long time since I had a Burger. I was thinking to myself should I get some Jersey Mike's down the street or Zburger. So I'm in line and I order a Zburger with everything on it and that's just what I got. Lots of long black hair. How did I know? I took my food home, sat at my desk, put a little Z sauce on my Burger and I was enjoying it! I have about a quarter of the burger left and I felt something on my tongue. I spit out the burger and pinched what was on my tongue. I pulled it out and there it was. A long 6 inch black hair. I brushed my teeth and gargled warm water. Another hair on the back of my tongue that I can't get out. Long story short, I called ZBurger to tell them what happened and the owner acted like I was lying. He offered money back and free food, whatever I want. Yeah, ok! I paid 17.50 for fries and a hairy burger plus gave a tip in the tip jar. I told him to keep it! I'm not coming back. I've been taking L's for the last week and I don't know why. Just some heads up if you go to ZBurger on S Pickett Street, EXAMINE your food before you eat it.!! Look on the bread and the lettuce!!

I ordered two double cheeseburgers ,one single and a fries at picket. The burgers were ok, but I was surprised to find a $2.50 packaging fee on the receipt, which was not mentioned on the menu. When I went to pick up my order, they handed me a paper bag with the burgers wrapped in aluminum foil. I inquired about the packaging fee, but the staff couldn't provide a clear answer. It's not about the amount, but rather the lack of transparency in their pricing. I'd be willing to pay more for a burger if they clearly stated the charges on the menu, but sneaking in unknown fees on the receipt isn't good business practice and it took away my trust .

3/11/2023 Zburger Pickett Street (Alexandria)

Order: Burger: Bacon double cheese burger (tomatoe, lettuce, pickels, Jalapeño, and mayo) 7.5/10 Taste: Very good, I would prefer this bacon cheese burger to 5guys(I would give a 5guys double bacon cheeseburger a 6/10). Size: It was a double bacon cheeseburger, I had to take a patty out to bite into it, very thick(tall). Can not finish in one sitting. Price: The burger cost $12 and some change, fries size regular cost $6 and milkshake a little over $6. Fries: Cold but good in the AirFryer. I would say equal to 5guys fries. Same thickness texture and firmness. (I did not ask for their seasoning.) Fries 6/10. 5guys Fries 6/10. Sauce: z burger sauce reminds me of thousand island dressing, with thick pickle chunks 4/10. Milkshake: I ordered Chocolate birthday cake. The milkshake cup said chocolate cheesecake??Regardless, tasted simply like chocolate milkshake. I have never tried a 5 guys shake, but I can compare it to a Wendy's frosty. Zburger chocolate shake 5/10( you can use a straw)...Wendy's frosty 7/10(you need a spoon). Staff treatment: I placed my order over the phone. The lady was very nice and patient, I wish I remembered her name. She gave her own suggestions, and did not mind all of my questions as I had never heard of the restaurant.  When I came in person she was equally friendly. Overall I would come again. I think they are equal competition to 5 guys, and proximity wise they are closer!! Smaller restaurant and I would not eat in. Overall...

I can't stand businesses that sneak extra charges onto your bill. Here, it is a "packaging fee" that is about 10% of your food subtotal. What is this for? Are they trying to cover the cost of their bags? And why doesn't the restaurant tell you it is charging this?

If you can't set honest prices, then you don't deserve to stay in business. And none of the food here is good enough to make me come back and pay a "packaging fee "

Speaking of the food, the onion rings are the only thing worth buying. They are beer battered, light, crispy and flavorful.

Everything else on the menu is completely forgettable. The burgers are thin, which means they are always well done. I prefer a little pink in my burgers. The only pink here is the tomato. How hard is it to let tomatoes ripen before you serve them? The only flavor on the burger was from the condiments. I'd rather have a quarter pounder at less than half the price.

The milkshakes are made with soft serve ice cream and flavor syrups. Sometimes the flavor is good. Sometimes it just tastes artificial.

The best thing I can say about the cheesesteaks is they are big. They can easily feed two people. But neither person will find them enjoyable or want another.

Everything here but the onion rings is a...
