I'd been going to the Mexican joint across the street for years and only saw this place last week, it's hard to see and the parking lot is difficult. But inside, it's a family-run place with the kitchen open to the dining area and twice the size. I'd gone in last last week for a nighttime taco snack and saw that they had legit Guadalajara-style food, including the Torta Ahogada. So I came back for lunch and ordered it. The young man asked if I wanted it spicy. Knowing that my ability to handle that has shrunk since I've become a viejo but wanted the true taste, I dithered and he said he'd put a little bit on.
