Drove by this place a lot while we went shopping at Good Fortune Market across street. My husband is a big fan of pan fried buns so we decided to check it out. Before came here, I looked at their menu and it had extensive and authentic flavors for dumplings and pies. That’s how I knew they were legit!!
We came on a rainy Saturday around 11:30am there were only two other tables. I feel on a nice day it would be busier.
For food we got: pork scallion pie (5/5). Wowwwww a must try!! It was so juicy and flavorful. The outside is perfectly crispy. This is our favorite and we definitely will try other flavors next time. pan fried chicken mushroom dumplings (5/5). I love the dumpling skin as you can taste the slightly chew and that’s how you know it’s handmade! cucumber salad (5/5). Very refreshing and balance out the richness of all the fried dumplings. pan fried bun (4/5). This is probably my least favorite although it’s still pretty good. It doesn’t have much juice as I thought it would like the pie. So I’ll stick with the pies next time.
No fuss service. You order via QR code and food comes out around 10-15 minutes. They have a sign to explain the 15 min wait due to all handmade to order which is well worth it!! This has become our new go-to for...
Read moreThere were bugs on the buns. You can imagine how bad their hygiene is. Their attitude is not good. When I walked in today, no waiter came to greet me. They were all looking at their phones and eating at the table. The break time was not written on Google Maps and Apple Maps. As a result, I had to wait for a long time for the order I ordered in advance. The waiter saw me and had a bad attitude. she said he didn’t see it because he was on break. Wasn’t it a reservation? I didn’t say anything. In the end, I waited for a long time and got the meal. I saw bugs on the buns. I was really disgusted. I thought my colleague recommended it to me, so I wanted to try it. Reply to merchant review:
Shouldn't the first thing you say when a customer walks in be that you're currently closed during your break? Neither Google Maps nor Apple Maps lists your break hours, and when I entered, your open sign was displayed. Furthermore, the service attitude was unimaginably poor. I hope everyone sees this review. Regarding the refund, I can only say it's reasonable. Shouldn't customers be entitled to a refund if they receive items infested with bugs? Moreover, I never demanded compensation or a replacement...
Read moreI'm super excited to share my discovery of Min Min Pie House in Alhambra, California! This cozy gem is easily missed, but trust me, it's worth a try if you love Chinese handmade pie dishes.
Walking in, I didn't see anyone to greet me, but the open seating and QR code ordering system made it easy to get started. Scan the code, choose from English or Chinese menus - so convenient! A friendly middle-aged lady arrived shortly, offered water, and let us know we could order through our phones.
We ordered: sweet & sour soup, fried stinky tofu, lamb scallion pie, pork cabbage baozi, fried leek dumplings. All orders take a bit longer since everything's made from scratch. Dishes are perfectly seasoned; just add soy sauce or chill sauce to taste. And most of all, the place is owned by locals, with hands-on kitchen staff.
When paying, the owner asked about my experience and shared their passion for handmade dishes. Only frozen dumplings are available for home purchase due to limited staff.
Min Min Pie House is a hidden gem! Don't miss it if you're a fan of authentic Chinese cuisine. Give it a...
