Del Taco — Restaurant in Aliso Viejo

I usually really like Del Taco. This location is consistently one of the worst. I keep giving this place a chance but it's always worse then any other location I've been too. I don't know what they do differently but the food never tastes fresh. Food is prepared sloppy, over salted, taco shells come crushed and taste stale. Inconsistent amounts inside the tacos. Some with almost no meat. Burger came smashed. French fries come soggy and taste like they were cooked in old oil. Bathroom is always filthy and unmaintained like an old gas station bathroom in south central LA. The bathroom smells so bad that not only do you smell it as soon as you walk in the front door, you can smell it throughout the dining room. A porta potty would be a better experience. No pride of ownership here. No competent management. The place appears to be run by teenagers that don't care. You see them goofing off while you are in the dining room. If they can't keep the restaurant clean, one can speculate that they probably don't put much effort into the food safety side of things. Maybe that's why the food always tastes off? This place is one of the few open late night in Aliso. I am so sick of going there at this point and I finally have to speak up. They cannot get your order correct while they charge you 3+ dollar per item. This place sucks and it constantly happens to me, whether it's missing a burrito or a chicken quesadilla. They charge you the money and then forget items consistently. I go here more than I should as I live next door and it's pathetic the effort they put in and the money they steal from me. Go to canes, they are much better at getting your order correct. Starve. Do anything else cause they will not get it right. Awful service, incorrect orders, forgotten items, that's what this place is good for. The manager there clearly doesn't know how to staff or run a restaurant as he just steals from his customers. You finally crossed the threshold of p*ssing me off cause of your inability to fulfill your duty as a fast food restaurant. I went here at 6 on on a Friday and because the drive thru line was huge I went inside to place my to go order. After waiting in the line when it became my turn to order nobody helped me for a few minutes, but eventually someone came over and told me and the five other people waiting behind me they were closing the dining room because the drive thru line was too busy and they had to instead focus on that. I said that didn't make any sense and he said that his performance gets measured by how long each car waits at the drive thru but there's nothing monitoring the customers in the dining room, so to look better for his boss he was gonna just close the dining room until the drive thru line got under control. I couldn't believe he'd do such a thing and I'm pretty sure the owner doesn't know the guy was doing that kind of stuff! There's another Del Taco pretty close by so I'll just be going to that one...
