Sushi Kizuna — Restaurant in Aliso Viejo

Started ordering takeout on a weekly basis as soon as they reopened during the pandemic. It was worth the 30 min drive each way given how fresh the fish is. However, we have had 3 not so great experiences in a row, now that they are serving in restaurant. The worst was this past weekend - made a reservation for 2 people at 6pm. Requested sushi bar (they have 8-10 seats), but were told it wasn’t available. We arrived at 6 and the sushi bar was empty, so we asked again and were told it was all reserved. When we left at 6:50, only one couple had arrived to be seated at the sushi bar. So much for being treated like a loyal customer! 1- You always ask yourself do I really want to drive 30 min to have dinner to just go next door to a local place.

2- Food tasting is very subjective but you know when you eat a good bite.

"I am willing to drive to Kizuna every night"

The Tuna Toro & Yellow tail belly taste is fabulous. it melts in your mouth.

I loved the selection and the attention to details.

The Sushi looks like Art.

The warm Sushi Rice makes all the difference in the world.

(Note: Warm Rice means the restaurant is using good fish, bad fish will smell on warm rice)

This is the prefect place to have a nice dinner with a client (and Impress them) or a family dinner for a top quality Sushi.

To be honest, I hadn't expected that it was such a great restaurant before actually dining here. It was way above my expectation.

I ate sashimi lunch, which was $22, excluding tax. Miso soup which was served first immediately moved me. The rice was excellent, which is equivalent to top quality one that I ate in Japan. There were about 12 pieces of sashimi, which were superb.

The clerks were very generous and friendly.

Overall, it's 100 out of 5 lol
