This place I don’t recommend it. The server is friendly but the food is not fresh. It is the second time that this happened. The first time i got sick about a month and a half; since then didn’t come again. Tonight we came and my son asked for a Pad Woon Sen (chinen)with extra veggies. His plate took longer to come because the food was defrosting and his noodles looks like a jelly those noodles were over heater and the vegetables the green onions weren’t fresh, the napa wasn’t crunchy and i tasted it and tasted terrible like rotten eggs, they over charged us $2 extra dollars for the extra veggies that wasn’t in the dish. My son couldn’t eat those, so I acknowledged the two servers one of them said that his manager said that it was ok that the plate was cooked properly like we didn’t know what real glass noodles were. The other server told me I’m sorry I know that is not fresh let me talk to my manager then she came and told me that next time it happens I will give me a free plate or credit store. We didn’t want any reimbursement but I’m praying my son doesn’t get sick. Never will come back to that place. Very bad experience eating that kind of food that they sell like it’s fresh but in reality its not fresh at all. Don’t...

Dinner tonight Ordered dinner tonight - Calamari was not cooked and slimey. Ordered Pad Thai -chicken - only 4 tiny pieces of chicken in the dish. The Cashew Nut Chicken had 2 half pieces of Cashew. All dishes were ice cold and congealed! WHAT THE ACTUAL! Called to complain and they were not interested! I told them I have two hungry kids and food that cost $68 - couldn't care less! There is NO customer care. I told the manager I order a lot from them but the way they were handling my complaint was unacceptable - he was like "Meh". Don't cry when your customer shop elsewhere and wonder why! Very disappointing!

A few months ago.... I ordered pad thai today for lunch. I paid $4 to add prawns - there were 3 prawns in the entire dish THREE for $4 - that is $1.33 per TINY prawn - what a complete rip off! The take out was a much smaller portion than it normally is and it was sickly sweet. They obviously used too much sauce as the dish was very dark - We order a lot from A Bite of Lao and it has never been that dark or sweet before! It was horrible. I asked for a can - A CAN of sprite and the lady said it was $3.25 FOR A CAN. Very disappointing. Not sure what is going on as we normally get such nice...

Disappointing Experience - Need Improvement

We've been loyal customers of Lao Thai since 2018, but unfortunately, our recent experiences(from last 1.5yr) have been consistently disappointing. Despite mentioning our vegetarian requirements (no meat, no fish sauce) during every order, they've messed up our takeout orders multiple times, including today.

Today's incident was the final straw. I specifically asked the staff during pickup if our order was vegetarian, and they confirmed it was. However, when I opened the container at home, it contained chicken. When I immediately returned to the restaurant to address the issue, the same staff member showed no concern or apology, simply responding with a dismissive "ok."

This lack of attention to detail and customer care is unacceptable, especially given our history with the restaurant. We've tried to overlook previous mistakes, but the frequency and severity of these errors demand improvement.

We hope you will take our feedback to heart and make necessary improvements. Until we see a change, we will be forced to take our loyalty (and...

This is my favorite Lao&Thai place ever. Everything here is so good. This place is new everything inside is so clean and nice. First, I ordered Nam Khao spicy level 5 which is the highest level from 1-5 and it was really good. I think here they do a real Thai spicy so you have to be careful with spiciness. Then, I wanted to try something new so I ordered Khao piak sen. it's like a noodle soup with chicken but the texture of Noodle is very different. It was soft and elastic. They said the noodle is homemade and I was very impressed by that. But, my fav dish here is Papaya platter Lao style. They know exactly how to make a Lao papaya salad because it was really tasty and they gave us chicken wings, crispy pork, noodle, and pork belly on the side. It was a good combination. The last thing that I ordered was basil minced with chicken. I also gave this 5 out of 5 because it was delicious and I love the way they put a sunny egg on the top. To all of this, I gave this place 5 stars because it's a pretty authentic food. I love this place. DEFINITELY WILL BE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!

Best Thai food in DFW! My wife and I honeymooned in Thailand so needless to say we are very spoiled regarding their cuisine, and are now thrilled to have this place here in McKinney! Firstly the flavors are on point and authentic. I've had Tom Yum soup at other places and they put so much sugar in it because I guess that's what Americans like? Anyway, the soup done correctly is EXTREMELY flavorful unlike any soup you've ever had before, and this place does it right. The Larb salad was just like what we'd had in Thailand. We ordered everything to be spicy 3 out of 5, but we probably could have handled a 4. Finally the Nam Khao appetizer was AMAZING! The chef/owner who was really nice came out to thank us for coming and asked how we liked that dish. Apparently it is very time consuming to make and requires special hard-to-find ingredients. Totally worth it! The taste is so good but it's the crunchiness that makes it extra special. Highly recommended!

I’m so disappointed with how A Bite of Lao and Thai has gone downhill. The food used to be so good. This last time put the nail in the coffin. 1. Their Lao sausage was really good when they first opened. Then they changed it, but it was still pretty good. Now it doesn’t even come with sticky rice or the Lao chili sauce and you really need those to complement the sausage. These are just little lonely sausages. 2. This is the saddest papaya salad I’ve ever seen. It’s 3/4 cabbage and 1/4 papaya salad. You cannot call this papaya salad. Taste didn’t compensate for the lack of food either. 3. The portions for the yellow curry and rice were also kid-sized. Rice is a cheap filler, why be stingy with it? I get that times are tough and inflation is real, but this was not worth the money. Go elsewhere.
