Horrible experience with them tonight. I had been a HUGE advocate for Zalat--they have something for everyone! Vegan cheese, all beef pepperoni, and gluten-free crust that tastes like the real thing... until tonight. After my interaction I'm not sure we will be visiting this establishment again. I ordered a GF pizza as per usual, only the crust I received tonight is sad and flat, like cardboard. I thought that perhaps I got the wrong order, or maybe, to my disappointment, they changed their crust (it happens, that's life), but I wanted to know. I called, and the person on the phone kept insisting they hadn't changed their crust. So why did it look so different? I just wanted to know if this was the new expectation going forward so I could weigh my pizza options in the future. He was acting as if I was unfounded and crazy for even insisting that it was changed, and eventually that he didn't know what to suggest and was "sorry I was unsatisfied." I knew I couldn't be dreaming; the crust I would get would sink perfectly into their srirancha sauce and have me in blissful disbelief that I was eating gluten-free pizza. This new crust was just... sad. What every generic gluten-free pizza option typically looks like. More so I was worried that, if they didn't change their pizza, I got the wrong crust then and this one DID have gluten in it that would make me sick.
We decided to take it back to the store, still thinking perhaps there was a mistake or mixup. My husband talked with those at the front desk, and the man at the counter admitted that YES, they DID change their gluten-free crust 4 months ago. So, to recap, the man on the phone made me out to be some crazy Karen for just calling to ask if what I got was a mistake because it looked different, then we drove all the way BACK to the store for them to tell me I was correct, and say they had no solution for us and send us back on our way home again with now cold pizza. No discount or resolution, just an "oh yeah it did change" and a shoulder shrug.
For the lack of customer service alone, they just lost a loyal customer who would order pizzas by the dozen for parties and holidays.
BTW: the new GF crust is abysmal. Chewy and flat. If you're GF or celiac, do yourselves a favor and try Delucca or Cadillac Pizza instead. Sadly, I’ve made a better GF...
Read moreFirst off you cannot call this place and order a pizza. If you call it will tell you that you have to order online. But I'm obviously calling because I don't want to do on order online. Okay let me do your job for you and type up my order. What if I'm paying cash. Oh you don't take cash. That's ridiculous.
Two, you don't offer delivery. If I wanted to do delivery I would have to use a different app to order your product. So here I am forced to order online and you're asking if I would like to leave a 20 or 30% tip for a pizza that I'm going to pick up. I have never tipped on a pizza that I have picked up. Besides that I have no idea how the product is going to be I have no idea if it's going to be ready on time I have no idea if the service is going to be good bad or somewhere in between. But you want me to leave a tip or click on a couple of different things so I can finally leave no tip and let your staff know that hey here's an order with no tip but please give me the same service as somebody who was stupid enough to leave a 30% tip on a to go Pizza order.
Third and finally this is where it gets really rich. I pay $26 for an extra large pizza with three toppings. When I pick it up this literally looks like a pizza that you would get from the grocery store and cook yourself...and I mean the cheap ones the deli make. There is absolutely no rise to the crust. The pepperonis are not cooked enough. It's the first time in my life and I am not a young man that I went and got a pizza from a pizzeria that literally looked like something somebody made themselves at home. Just a terrible Pizza we threw half of it away. If somebody serve this pizza at a party I would not believe that this came...
Read moreTried this place a year ago and it was way below average.
Well, Friday I get a text and email with a code for a free pizza from their 7 specialty pizza list. My wife and I looked at the list of speciality pizzas friday and they all sounded terrible. Every other pizza on their menu looked ok but the specialty 7 did not. I wouldn't even call 5 of them pizzas.
So Sunday we decide to try the teriyaki chicken "pizza". When I etered the code it did work, but there it was again, asking me to leave a 30 percent tip on a pick up pizza. Where does this company get the stones to demand a tip on a pick up order. Looks like from reviews if you leave a nice tip they will draw cute stuff on your box and be nice to you when you come in.
Anyways I pick up the pizza that's says it will be ready at 1245. I get there at 1230 and it's already sitting there waiting for me. Imagine if I showed by at 1245. I get the pizza home and my wife and I both have a slice. Worst tasting "pizza" I have every tried. It's really round flat bread with weird sauce cheese onions and chicken. This is in no way a pizza. I finished my slice and immediately had a stomach ache. My wife was smart enough to try only one bite.
Second time in my life I have thrown out the majority of a pizza and the first time was their regular pizza. Glad I didn't waste money on a tip....
Avoid unless you like...
