Update 07/2022: The new management at this store is really letting the place go downhill. I really depended on the Fresh Market during the pandemic. The store was kept clean, and I could quickly grab my grocery staples and go!
My last few visits have been very disappointing. The pancake mix I bought had weevils in it when I opened it. When I returned it, the manager tried to argue with me saying that it happened while it was at my house. No, look at your store. It is now visibly filthy. The handles on the freezers are dirty, the deli case needs to be wiped out and sanitized, there is usually ketchup smeared on the front door or it is sticky. The register counter needs to be wiped. If we buy vegetables or fruit here, they are rotten within a couple of days. I bought a poundcake here only to get it home and find the bottom was moldy. The freezers are not being defrosted.
The restaurant side is not clean either when I didn't have all of my items in the drive thru, I went inside to fix my order. My food was still tasty, but all of the surfaces are greasy, which happens in fast food restaurants, but the management is obviously not prioritizing cleaning. The staff is still friendly, seem stressed out, you can tell the issues are coming from the people managing the store. It's a real shame since this is the Braums on old historic Main St. People come here when they are in town to remember going here as children. The manager's running the place like it's just another greasy spoon hole in the wall. Obviously doesn't understand what Braums means to Texans who grew up here.
Original Review: If you grew up in Texas or Oklahoma, you just know that Braum's has the best milk. It is definitely worth it to make the extra stop here for your milk and meats. The quality is so much better than what the big box grocery stores in this area have to offer. If you miss how food used to taste, don't blame your taste buds, Braum's food is always fresh because it is local and you can tell. My grandma never let her grandkids go to bed without our bowl of Braum's ice cream for dessert. I suggest picking up a carton of their egg nog ice cream around the holidays, and the cherry amaretto is delicious too.
You'll feel like you're back in small town Allen here. So many things on Main Street have changed, but not Braum's or Puckett's next door. The store is always clean and the staff is friendly. I love that the restaurant at this particular location is a bit secluded from the rest of the store. It is nice to share a sundae with your significant other in the cozy atmosphere. Their fries are my absolute favorite of any fast food fries, crinkle cut to hold onto ketchup, and never...
Read moreThis location is under staffed and either untrained or poorly trained. I spent 10 to 15 minutes waiting at a register with zero employees approaching me. I watched the grill guy spend nearly a minute putting a single wrapper on a single burger. Zero exaggeration. And then it took 2 people to put food in a bag while having a conversation that required them to stop the difficult task of putting sandwiches in bags and then finish the task post conversation. There was one person manning the ice cream ordering location who had a line of about 8 people (3 when I came in), that had the look on his face like he checked out hours ago and the effort to prove it. I think there were 4 or 5 people specifically doing work for the drive thru, while the store filled up with people waiting at the grocery checkout, ice cream checkout and meal order checkout. The entire staff avoided any eye contact as if it was against policy to interact with customers. Watched half the customers who showed up leave before I had the sense to do the same. This place is probably losing thousands of dollars in a span of 30 minutes.
If your business angle is to work only the drive thru, then make that known to your customers. Don't lack the character to be straight with your customers and tell them the situation. Also it's a shame whoever runs this business doesn't understand the value of 1-2 more employee's and an effort in the training of your employees. This place has the energy of someone slowly losing their mind. Use to be a great place...

Having said that .... we actually ate here, for the first time today. Tables dirty, not that busy. It's Tuesday evening, and I'm order #366, Braums Corporate ... if you're listening.
Both ketchup dispensers empty. Crinkle cut fries, cold, and non salted. Tasted just as they are ... fried from frozen, and allowed to sit. A while ...
Double burger, pepper jack, and jalapeno, sloppily stacked, with still cold cheese. It never melted. I guess it comes with 3 sliced jalapenos and a massive stack of shredded lettuce ... twice as big as the double quarter pounder patties. I took the bun off, to figure out where the patties were.
Table next to the register stayed dirty. I used one of our bottled waters, and napkins to clean ours. 30 minutes from start to finish, and the accompanying table stayed composted.
Lady took our order, and payment, and just disappeared. We had to shoo ourselves to our dirty table, because clearly, no instructions are given willingly here. Do we wait, bolt, skip, snooze ... what ?
Grabbing our tray, assuming it was ours ... was when we sallied over to the gallon ketchup dispensers, and found both, one pump from empty. Sounds fun, but wasn't.
Braums is always my favorite place, too, believe it or not ... but opinions and mileage vary. Anyhow ...
Sooo' in closing, grocery here rules ! Eatery ......
