Nkasso — Restaurant in Allentown

Habiba, was great! We dined in on Tuesday afternoon and although it was a casual set-up, she was very attentive-offering a full dining experience. She gave us samples of the juices before we decided on the ginger and baobab. Both were delicious. I especially loved the ginger!

I ordered the okra soup with fish and my husband the, African Queen. He also ordered an order of fried chicken and plantains. There was plenty of food to share and even some to take home. We ordered 3 beef samosas to go as they came out fresh! The experience was great. The restrooms are clean the dining was comfortable and our host was friendly and smiling and most importantly it was tasty and affordable. $56 for everything.

Get to Nkasso Food 🇨🇮 in Allentown next to the PPL Center on 8th and Linden! The restaurant itself is very humble, but the food is royal👑 The owner explained everything (the food is West African, Ivory Coast), brought samples of all of their stew sauces for us to try before we chose, and every single bite was delicious. I finally got to try fufu, which is kind if like mashed potatoes in a well-formed ball that you dip in stew. And they easily have the friendliest service in town.

I tried Nkasso today for the first time and very happy with it. I've never had West African food before but I got the African queen and definitely need to go back. It smells divine and the portion sizes are very generous. The crispiness of the chicken is very nice but not super dry as you might expect. The side of vegetables are nice, although the baby carrots were a bit on the bland side. The rice was very good and the yams were delicious. I was able to sample their drinks and while all good, I had to go with the hibiscus tea drink. All in all...
