Iāve been going to Cabin Creek for some time now. Almost daily. However todayās experience drove me to write this review.
I took in a new furry friend, Ricky, and he was a bit energetic this morning and so we took a walk downtown. I didnāt initially have plans on getting coffee, just taking the new pup for a walk. As I get to the doors, holding my ānew-to-meā pup back, I poked my head in the door, and asked if non-service animals were allowed inside, and rightfully so they said he had to stay outside. Mind you, Iām also a 100% disabled veteran.
The only disappointing part about my morning was that I couldnāt tie Ricky to a stationary object to be able to grab my coffee still. So Ricky and I sat outside in their chairs, well I sat š š ā¦.deciding what our next move was. All of a sudden, one of the workers, I wish I wouldāve caught her name, came out and asked if I still wanted a cup of coffee. Iām not sure if she recognized me as a regular or not. I said yes and she took my order outside. I apologized for the slobber and barking as Iām working on socializing Ricky still.
You see, I took Ricky in a couple weeks ago when his owner had to have emergency surgery. Weāre still getting used to each other and different lifestyles trying to adapt to one another.
When my coffee order was brought to me, outside, I had my phone ready for tap to pay and she said not to worry about itā¦she did what she could to still make the customer happy, and went above and beyond and didnāt charge me for my coffee. This is the reason I will always continuing to choose Cabin Creek over anybody else for my coffee order in Alpena. The prices, the atmosphere, and the immaculate customer service.
Thanks Cabin Creek for a great start to mine, and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went into Cabin Creek, with a friend. We both were set to use coffee cards where we purchased 9 coffees and were entitled to the 10th free, per this establishment's parameters. When we ordered and presented our cards we were abruptly told that they no longer accept them. These cards have no expiration date, we met the requirements and yet they were still refused. I politely reminded the person waiting on us, in light of good customer service it would be the right thing to honor the program however we were met with a disrespectful, unapologetic, refusal, in front of other patrons. Based on the principle of the matter we will never again give this establishment our business and will of course let our family, friends and business associates know there are other more ethical coffee shops and restaurants in our area. An important lesson to learn is our word is our bond, if as a person or business entity we enter an agreement, no matter how small, keep your end of the bargain and if you absolutely have no choice but to change an agreement, politely offer to rectify...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am so grateful that Cabin Creek Coffee provides a family-friendly atmosphere for our community. I am also pleased to see that you use Le Monin sugar syrups, which are much less chemical-filled than Torani syrups. I would not buy coffee here, nor promote it to others, if all Torani syrups were used like many other coffee shops. This business is already due for a much-needed expansion. The lines are frequently long, and it is often difficult to find places to sit for large groups. Since you are the only coffee shop in town, please expand so people will have a place to eat and hang out!
Lastly, this business should provide food and pastries made with non-bromated (bleached and enriched) flour. All products at this business are made with it. For too long this country has accepted nutritionless and fattening products made with bromated flour. This change needs to start at the...
