Mangos — Restaurant in Alpena

First and last time to this place! If I had to make an assumption, they do not like military. Came into the restaurant and was directed by a sign to go to the host stand in the back. Went to the back and stood there for about five minutes while staff just kept walking by. Decided to seat myself at the bar. There was another couple two chairs down to me that said they did the same thing because they also stood at the whole stand for several minutes with no one attending to them.

After about 10 minutes of the bartender looking at me and the other couple, she finally comes over and asks us if we just sat down or seated by the hostess. Both I and the other couple said we just sat down. She then left to which I assumed she went to the host stand. A few minutes later, another girl comes over with two menus and two sets of utensils and gives it to the couple next to me. She then turns around and walks off, leaving me sitting there by myself with no menu no utensils no nothing. Not even a “I’ll be right with you“. I had my Air Force unit T-shirt on so I can only assume they don’t like military because I can’t justify any other reason for being ignored and such a demeaning manner. 3yeara ago this was my one and only place I would even consider eating at in alpena or surrounding areas... tonight was the first time in almost a year we've graced their doors and again.... TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT! Our waitress Crystal (started in March 2022, she said) was very accommodating and friendly) My problem with this place is the lack of quality control and seasonings! The food is super bland and the so called "fresh" vegetables like lettuce for the major one, and tomatoes, cheese, onions, cilantro leaves are CONSTANTLY MOLDED AND SLIMY!!! I've had ecoli once in my life and I'll be damned if it happens again! This place seriously needs evaluated by the health department before the kill someone! And yes! You CAN die from ecoli! I was in the hospital for over 2 weeks after eating contaminated food less than 24 hours before!!! (And YES, IT WAS TRACED BACK TO THE RESTAURANT I WAS AT!

This place isbland, gros, overpriced. And , quite honestly the owner is a jerk... he won't even TRY to fix it... just tell you to get out! (Last experience, not this time)

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, let alone my worst enemy! Stay far far...

We have eaten here several times and I always order the guacamole salmon. We had a bad experience when we ate there last night (Thursday). The salmon was over cooked and when telling the waitress she didn’t offer to do anything. I also told her that under our table looked like someone threw up and I’m not exaggerating. Think it was where beans had spilled on the floor and the wall. She looked at it and said someone spilled something. When we got up to leave I stopped at the restroom and then went back and told a young man at the door about the floor. (That was a very distasteful sight. ) I feel like this young girl was NOT TRAINED PROPERLY first of all. If she was we would have been seated elsewhere while they cleaned the floor and wall.
