Bay View Park — Attraction in Alpena

Mainly a sit and relax park. Has porta pottys. Nice concrete bike trail and walking lane from State street over to tennis courts. It abutts the Bandshell for summer music fun and drama from advertisers 'information tents and some times free bees at the 4th of July concerts and during the Art on the Bay in mid July. It is the large park connected to the children s swinging and climbing Kiddee Park supported by the great members of Alpena Kiwanis Club. Doggie bags available on metal stands. Even a couple of old time charcoal grills on stands by Kiddee Park area next to City Boat Harbor and the magnificent walking pier that takes you out a little where fishees gather . Bay View park is located at the edge of Downtown Alpena. This park has a lot of options, but you really can't swim here. The shore is lined with boulders to help stop erosion. There are however, many other things to do here. You can walk out onto the pier, you can listen to a free concert or watch a free movie. The city band also plays at the bandshell here! We loved stopping at this park for a quick way to stretch our legs on our road trip. I liked that it wasn't as busy as the park south of this location. We enjoyed walking on the boardwalk and my daughter played on the playground for a while.
