I would give it 0 stars – Unpleasant and unhygienic experience
This restaurant was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. From the moment you walk in, you notice the tense atmosphere: there are no servers, just the owner and two employees who serve you with a sour face, lack of interest, and don't listen to your orders. They ignore you as if you're bothering them.
The buffet food doesn't inspire confidence: the rice and several dishes look like they've been reheated from previous days. I peeked into the kitchen and saw cooks without gloves when they're preparing the food, and utensils covered in old grease. The oil, the fryer, and the griddle were disgusting just looking at them.
Where we sat, there were cockroaches walking around peacefully. That, to me, says everything about the cleanliness of the place.
One detail that seemed very unprofessional to me: a woman who seems to work as a dishwasher came out to clean tables in front of everyone. It didn't leave anything dirty, but honestly, that doesn't happen in a serious restaurant.
Also, there were several people smoking in the back of the restaurant. The smell wafted through while you were eating, making the experience even more uncomfortable.
In short:
Cockroaches next to the tables.
Cooks without gloves while preparing the food.
Dirty oil and utensils.
Food looks old.
Grumpy owner and poor service.
Unprofessional image.
And a filthy restaurant, from my point of view.
The food is oversalted and tasteless, what with the sauces and the rice. I hope the health authorities inspect this place. For my part, I will never return, and I sincerely believe it shouldn't be open like this.
And I HOPE THE HEALTH AUTHORITIES ARRIVE AND SHUT IT...
Read moreThis is probably one those few Indian restaurants in metro Atlanta region which serves almost authentic South Indian food at a very reasonable price. What lacks is the atmosphere and the surroundings.
Food: Have got a lot of TOGO orders from this place before which were all very good. That includes Parotta Kurma, Chappati Kurma, Gobi 65 etc. This was my first dine in experience. So we got Mushroom 65 fried rice and Paneer Burji dosa. Both of them tasted very nice and the spice levels were just as requested. The mushroom was fried very well. The sambar was good just like before but the chutneys were stale and not fresh. Infact they seemed spoilt. Have to say their Cakes are excellent. Best for birthdays. Butterscotch cake is just too good.
Service & Atmosphere: Although it’s self service, the order arrived within few minutes of wait time. No hassle and the food was cooked well. The main reason why I used to take out food from this place was because of the ambience. The place used to be crowded most of the time and didn’t feel like dining in. The Menu card and the kids high chair were very much dirty and probably mot cleaned in years I would say. Secondly I see a lot of people outside the restaurant door smoking and having tea. I really wish the management urges them to stay away from the entrance. Doesn’t feel family friendly at all. I would think twice before dining in.
BOTTOMLINE: Overall a very good restaurant for food and service but a big let down in terms of ambience and atmosphere.
MUST TRY: Mushroom 65 Fried rice, Dosa varieties, Parotta-VegKhurma and...
Read moreI visited Hot Breads in Alpharetta, Georgia, this morning with my kids for breakfast, hoping to enjoy some authentic Indian breakfast items. The menu listed several options, including puri, idli, dosa, onion dosa, vada, and pongal, which sounded promising. However, the experience was largely disappointing.
The vada was severely undercooked, making it unpleasant to eat. The puri had an off-putting smell, likely from bad or reused oil used for frying, which ruined the taste. The chutney accompanying the dishes lacked basic seasoning like salt and pepper, making it bland and unappetizing. The only saving grace was the dosa, which was decent, but everything else fell short of expectations.
It’s unclear whether the buffet-style breakfast contributed to the poor quality, but the overall execution was lacking. The food felt carelessly prepared, with no attention to proper cooking techniques or seasoning. For a place specializing in Indian cuisine, I expected better flavors and quality control. Unfortunately, this visit was a letdown, and I’m hesitant to return for breakfast.
You need to buy coffee or tea separately and it's not included in breakfast 😔.... Except for water.... No juice or coffee included in breakfast!
Rating: 1.5/5 Recommendation: Hot Breads needs to improve its food preparation, especially for buffet items, to ensure freshness and proper seasoning. Stick to the dosa if you must visit, but there are likely better options for Indian breakfast...
