complaint in regards to delays and errors associated with an order placed at Home Depot Store number H0149 located in Alpharetta, GA.
On February 7, 2025, I placed an order for 24 windows with the local window department representative . Of those 24, 13 were standard sized and 11 windows has to be a special order due to not standard size. I specified to the sale representative that I required a window grill. 11 of the windows were custom orders as they did not come in standard sizes. He presented me the order and asked me to sign the order and pay same day. As a layperson, I was unaware that, at the time I signed the order, that He had incorrectly placed an order for custom windows with three different grill patterns. I had assumed, based on our conversation and my order for 13 standard sized windows with grills, that he had understood I needed the same type of grill that was on the standard sized windows. If you review the receipt, it is not even immediately clear where the grill type is referred to. It was only after it was explained to me that I was aware that the number in the parentheses at the very end of the item number referred to a grill type. For any layperson, this is not immediately obvious, nor would it be something that is checked even in a thorough review of the invoice. On March 1, 2025, the 11 windows were delivered to my home. However, of the 11 windows, 6 windows that were sent had the incorrect grill pattern Additionally, one of the windows damaged due to missing corners protections. After receiving the windows, I returned on the day of delivery to the store to request resolution of the grill issue and the damaged window. The sales employee I spoke to acknowledged that he did not catch the grill error when the order was placed; however, the store’s assistant manager refused to take responsibility for the grill error. When I requested assistance with the damaged window, the sales representative claimed the window could be clean. When I requested a replacement instead, a manager claimed that nobody at the store could assist me other than the sales representative who was on vacation. Despite multiple visits to the store and discussions with the managers and sales representative, I never received any resolution. In addition, I was met with uncourteous and dismissive behavior by the management of the store. Home Depot never accepted responsibility for its error, did not offer my any acceptable resolution for their error, and treated me, as a customer who had wasted substantial time attempting to resolve Home Depot’s error,...
Read moreI had an exceptional experience at Home Depot’s Alpharetta Store #0149 on May 2, 2025, and I want to make sure the team — especially Toby, Matt, Jim, and the other helpful associates — gets the recognition they deserve.
I came in with a complicated treadmill repair I’d been stuck on for months. Honestly, I expected to be pointed toward some hardware and sent on my way to figure it out myself. What I received instead was hands-on support, deep expertise, and genuine care that went far beyond what I could have imagined.
As soon as I arrived, a team member kindly directed me to the correct aisle — a small gesture, but one that immediately saved time and frustration. That’s where I met Toby, who examined the treadmill, asked thoughtful questions, and said something I won’t forget: “Don’t worry — we’ll have this all sorted out before you leave.” His calm confidence was a huge relief.
Over the next two hours, Toby identified the right screws, washers, nuts, and tools — and didn’t just stop there. He got down on the floor, on hands and knees, working in tight, awkward spaces to get everything securely installed. When one stubborn screw wouldn’t come out, he brought in Matt to hold the heavy treadmill while he carefully drilled it out. It was a true team effort, and they treated the project like it was their own.
Once everything was installed, Toby gave me the individual parts used — each marked with etched part numbers — and told me to take them to checkout. I was a bit nervous that I’d need to look up each part and enter them manually, but another associate stepped in and kindly pointed me to Jim, the checkout specialist.
Jim made the whole process simple. He asked how many of each part were used, entered them all quickly, and told me to bring my van to the front. By the time I got there, Jim had already wheeled the treadmill to the loading area and suggested we lay it flat before loading to avoid any potential damage — another thoughtful and professional touch.
From start to finish, this team turned what had been a frustrating, months-long challenge into a completed project. I left feeling genuinely supported, respected, and valued as a customer.
Toby, Matt, Jim, and the helpful associates who guided me along the way represent the very best of what Home Depot stands for. If you have a real project — especially one you’re stuck on — this is absolutely the...
Read moreDisastrous Delivery and Installation Experience
I recently had the misfortune of purchasing a washer and dryer from The Home Depot, and the overall experience was nothing short of a nightmare. The problems began when the third-party delivery and installation team, contracted by The Home Depot, showed up at my doorstep. What followed was a series of unfortunate events that left me with a ruined carpet and a deep sense of frustration.
The delivery personnel, who seemed to have no regard for cleanliness, dragged in red mud all over my brand-new carpet. It was not just a small smudge; it was a blatant disregard for the customer's property. Instead of offering immediate solutions or taking responsibility for their mistake, the delivery team showed indifference, leaving me to deal with the aftermath.
To make matters worse, when I reached out to The Home Depot to rectify the situation, I was confronted with a convoluted and time-consuming claims process. Rather than providing a straightforward resolution, I was informed that I had to navigate through two separate third-party entities to file a claim and address the damage caused to my carpet. This not only added insult to injury but also highlighted a complete lack of accountability on the part of The Home Depot for the subpar service they outsourced.
Frustrated with the bureaucracy and inconvenience imposed upon me, I decided to take matters into my own hands and opted to have the carpet cleaned at my own expense. The fact that I had to resort to this measure to rectify a problem caused by The Home Depot's chosen third-party delivery service speaks volumes about the company's customer service priorities.
In summary, my experience with The Home Depot's delivery and installation service was a colossal disappointment. From the careless delivery team to the burdensome claims process, the entire ordeal was a stark reminder of the importance of reliable and accountable service providers. I strongly advise potential customers to exercise caution when dealing with The Home Depot, especially when it comes to delivery and...
