I stayed at the Courtyard Atlanta Alpharetta for the weekend because I wanted to stay at a Marriott property with affordable, competitive rates on the outskirts of Atlanta while still being within driving distance to downtown Atlanta. I must say that this is perhaps the nicest Courtyard by Marriott I had stayed at so far.
Upon check-in, I was politely greeted and thanked for my loyalty as a Titanium Elite Member. I was then informed by the front desk that I was upgraded to an Executive Suite, which I was very appreciative of. I opted for the $10 Food and Beverage credit for 2 as my welcome gift. My partner was able to use it to grab a Hagaan-Daas ice cream at the convenience store in the lobby when he was craving for sweets one night, and we used the rest of it at the Bistro for breakfast. I forgot the name of the dish, but I ordered an eggs platter one morning with Pork Sausage, Whole Wheat Toast, Tomatoes with green onions, and scrambled egg whites; in addition to a Starbucks Venti Caramel Macchiato. My order was brought out to me while I was working away on my laptop in one of the cubicles with a table and TV screen. It came out with regular scrambled eggs, for which they apologized and took it back to switch it out with egg whites. I apologized for the miscommunication as well as I read the menu wrong and didn't realize the dish offered both regular and egg whites, I just forgot to specify I wanted egg whites, so I just made sure to tip extra once I got the correct order.
I used the gym at this hotel and I like how it seemed bigger than most Courtyards I've stayed had having a dumbbells rack, adjustable benches, yoga mats, and yoga/medicine balls; in addition to the usual assortment of cardio machines (bikes, treadmills, and ellipticals).
This was also the cleanest Courtyard I had stayed at. Other than my room/suite being clean, the one thing that tipped me off that housekeeping at this hotel does a great job were the lights in the hallway. If you look up, you'll see it's a type of circular lantern. Some Courtyard properties I've stayed at neglect these lights and you can see dead bugs and dirt on the bottom surface of these lights sometimes. None of the lights at the Courtyard Atlanta Alpharetta had this issue, they were all very clean, and I was thoroughly impressed at the care and attention to detail!
The Executive Room I was given was excellent. I think what I liked most about it was the Keurig coffee maker machine and an actual Courtyard pen and sticky notes pad on the night stand (an amenity I have sorely missed seeing in the last 2 years).
Overall, I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel and would consider staying here again if I don't want to pay exorbitant rates closer to downtown and want to also avoid...
Read moreIntegrity and kindness are lacking in this establishment. My daughter and I arrived in the evening of 5/14/22 around 11:30 p.m. We had traveled a good distance and were ready for bed. I assumed the process to check in would be fairly quick due to the fact that I had paid in advance online. When I approached the front desk the woman seemed nice and asked if I wanted to use the same card I paid with for an incidental fee, but never informed me of what that fee would be. I said no, being that I had brought a different card with me and pulled it out to hand it to her. She received another call in that moment while assisting me, and instead of putting them on hold, she begin to assist them. I then saw a notification hit my phone for a transaction of $180 for the Courtyard Marriott that was declined. It happens a second time, in the meantime she is still on the phone with someone else. When she got off the phone, I inform her that I paid for the room already and asked why she was taking an additional $180 out? The total was supposed to be $147 for one night. She informed that due to me deciding to use a different card for the incidental fee she canceled the entire thing and was charging me again. However, none of what she was doing with my money was discussed with me before doing it, also she ran that same card for a higher amount without explaining the charges. I never got an answer as to why the total was $180? I checked my account to see if the money had come back on my card and of course it had not. It takes at least 5 to 10 business days. I was so frustrated but remained calmed and asked her what I needed to do, she said nothing. She handed me my key and sent me on my way. Upon entering the room, the bathroom had not been cleaned well. My daughter took the sofa bed, but when pulling it out there was no plastic covering over the bed and therefore it was very dirty. There were no sheets left for the bed. It looked like someone had urinated on the bed several times. There were bugs in the corners of the couch as well. My daughter had to sleep with me. I woke up to several transactions for different amounts on my card that she had tried to process, due to her mistake. When the money that you took and then canceled without telling me is put back on my card, you can take it out again.. I am a hard working single mother, you can not do what you please with other people's money. This company is not trustworthy. I've called several times and asked for a manager but no one will return my call. I do not recommend this hotel and will never use them again...

Booked a suite to have a few meals in room over 5 days. We had a living room but no real kitchen -microwave and mini fridge but not even a few paper plates, towels, sponge, small cafe table/chairs. Should have booked a regular room at less expensive price.
they're commitment was to service our room every other day. Our stay was Saturday to Thursday - and our room was serviced once! First day we had 2 ppl and 3 coffee pods ?!? Had to stalk the cleaning ppl. What were we to do for the next day … No coffee ? I’m all for sustainability and reusing towels etc for a few days - but they need to leave sufficient supplies for 2 days ….
Mgr granted a 10k point credit but no refund for booking a suite for no reason.
Rushing to get ready to go out one morning - can’t find the blow dryer? Used the room phone - it rings forever with no pick up. I used the app and 5 mins later I got dressed and walked to front desk. At 10 mins+ I hung up and spoke to front desk in person.. Seems there’s a dryer in bag on hanger in closet but we didn’t see it. We were late for morning activities and pick up.
One late afternoon we returned and the power was out and we were told several times when the service would be restored. First we went out to eat out after hiking all day (when we had food in the refrigerator for dinner). Came back twice afterward - no power.
Finally we asked if there was a power supply to charge devices before moving to pitch dark room. Nope - we were told at 9:40 we should go out to charge our devices - like there’s a library open. (We drove around forever earlier to find a restaurant open on a weekday night.)
Go back to room in dark with dying phone and found the room wasn’t refreshed. Had to walk back down stairs in dark for towels. But no showers since power didn’t return until after 2 AM.
Asked for manager to call about the servicing of the room and lack of emergency charging station but still haven’t heard from him several weeks later
I know this sounds like I’m a person in search of a problem, but this is 100% how the stay went. Life happens and I get it’s not their fault the electric went out - but that was the end of an already challenging stay. And no basic emergency prep is a non starter for me
Wouldn’t recommend this location for personal or...
