Visited Alpharetta to see a concert and chose Gyro Cafe over the closer Greek chain restaurant in the area. Dropped by to get dinner to go, but it was very early since we wanted to "pre-flight" before the concert so there was no crowd at the restaurant. Food was great though. Clearly, we super enjoyed Gyro Cafe! Details below.
Cleanliness: 5/5. No sticky floors and tables were clean. No sign of pests. Nicely decorated with a cool mural on the wall with some interesting oddities that are imaginative and can be conversation pieces. "Is that a hat?" "Where do those stairs lead?"
Service: 5/5. The cashier was professional and courteous. He had no idea that we were sharing our food. We ordered the gyro combo first, then I ordered the spanakopita appetizer. He advised me that it wasn't a meal but just a few pieces...which was thoughtful. Might be a little biased about my service rating too, because he threw in an extra cup for a drink, so we got a drink for free.
Food - 5/5. We ordered a gyro with fries and a side of spanakopita. Quantity: 5/5. Gyro was stuffed with a good amount of meat and toppings. Loved that they included a small cup of tzatziki sauce. Fair amount of fries. Three spanakopitas came with a single order. Appearance: 5/5. I really should just take pictures. Everything looked great. Fries and spanakopita were fried perfectly and the gyro had a well balanced color combo of the greens, tomatoes, meat, and sauce. Veggies appeared to be fresh. Taste: 5/5: The gyro meat was hot and juicy. Veggie toppings were fresh. The fries really stood out with the toppings and lemony flavor sprinkled on them. We dipped our fries into the tzatziki sauce instead of ketchup and the sauce was good.
Overall: 5/5. I'm a little biased for family/local owned places. Gyro Cafe impressed.
Return factor: If I lived in the area and had a show to go to again in Alpharetta Gyro Cafe would certainly make the list to grab a Greek meal. I'm bummed I don't live closer (we're in FL) because I'd definitely try their...
Read moreGyro Cafe is simply the best! This is thanks to their phenomenal food (my personal favorite is the Gyro Platter), and their wonderful service and care (especially by Pam!!!). I have always enjoyed this restaurant, but I am a forever fan and love this specific restaurant because of the fantastic and superb care Pam provided me recently. I had a rare order issue (due to Uber Eats). Other restaurants would have put the blame and burden on Uber Eats. But it was evident Pam wanted to provide first class quality service nonetheless. So when I re-ordered a few days later, she wasn't even working that shift but still arranged with the team to provide one of the best meals I have ever had.
Pam (and the team overall) exemplify class, empathy, care, and understanding the importance of the customer experience. I have recommended my friends and family for Gyro Cafe solely due to her stellar quality of service, and hope this is the standard for all services across...
Read moreDONâT GO TO GYRO CAFE UNLESS YOU WANT TO LEAVE HUNGRY. Every single part of the meal and experience was disgustingâŠfrom the pita bread (ridiculously stale) to the hummus (oily and tasteless) to the Greek salad (soggy lettuce and what was that mush that pretended to be feta cheese???!)) to the chicken souvlaki (burnt so much I couldnât cut it) to the gyro (lettuce soggy, chicken was shards scraped from the bottom of the pan and dried to death) to the LACK OF ANY SERVICE when I told them about my experienceâŠbasically told me too bad, not gonna do anything about it. It went from bad to worse to the worst ever and I had previously been a very loyal customer. We, as Customers, have many many choices where to dine so one would think restaurants would want to incent return business by providing at least decent (edible!) food and compassionate service. I would have given 0 stars if that option existed because it was THAT BAD. Shame, shame, shame on...
