DINNER NEVER AGAIN- WHAT A RIPOFF!! This is a great place for breakfast, so we decided to do dinner with some friends last night-what a mistake! My wife had a special birthday and it was pretty much ruined by the dinner.
Corkage fee- A whopping $35 per bottle if you were to bring your own wine and this place wasn't that nice to command such a price. I looked online at their wine list ahead of time and was not impressed by the depth or the selections (a bottle of cheap Fetzer sold for $44!), so I brought my own wine. I made it a point to talk to the manager upon our arrival to tell her that it was a special birthday dinner, and whatever she could do regarding the corkage fee of $35 per bottle would be appreciated. As usual, I also offered her a glass to pour some of the wine for herself. I was very surprised to see, at the end of the meal, that the full $70 was charged for the two bottles. When I asked the server if she had talked to the manager, she said yes, there was nothing the manager could do about the fee. Not knowing how much corkage we were going to be charged, the special champagne was opened and poured by the manager, but no ice bucket was offered, Not wanting to push my luck and thinking the corkage fee would indeed be reduced, I went ahead and opened and poured the Pinot Noir myself for the meal. If I had known we were going to be charged that much for corkage, I would've let them do all the work.
âEuropean Portionsâ - We started with a an appetizer, and there were four of us, but the server only brought three pieces of bread. We had to ask for more bread, which was very strange. We then ordered some salads and were told the portions would be âEuropean portionsâ, and the salads would be small, however, we quickly found the salads were very large and we could've easily split them. (The group that sat next to us must have been privy to this knowledge because their server gave them a different kind of bread and they split their salads, maybe even splitting their meals, but we weren't sure.) The meals were fine as expected. They did bring a birthday dessert for my wife and we ordered additional desserts for the table.
Bill Charges- All of us were very disappointed that the manager was unable or unwilling to reduce the corkage fee and the server seemed like she was more interested in running up our tab ($400 for four of us, including tip), than providing us a good meal. We all left very dissatisfied (considering the price we paid) and vowed to post an...
Read moreI unfortunately had an extremely disappointing experience here today. I like many other reviews here am writing to share my experience of discrimination at this establishment. I will start by saying I am an accomplished and educated individual. I rarely write reviews but this experience is indicative of one. Today for brunch I decided to stop by and experience something new. Myself and my sister were seated outside in a corner by a hostess who immediately gave both of us very nasty looks. This was not asked rather told we were quite literally walked outside. I was extremely disappointed but hoping this was not about to be one of those experiences. We then sat in that corner for 20+ minutes with 0 service I watched as another set of patrons of the opposite skin tone received prompt service and there meals were delivered to their table before we were even brought water. This was very disheartening as we arrived before these patrons. We then asked to be moved inside where this experience continued being followed up with incredibly nasty looks and a very much so "we do not want you here attitude". Our server ultimately was attentive to other tables leaving us to our own devices after following up 1 time once the food was brought. Begrudgingly we had to seek a member of staff to pay the check as well. Even though we had this experience I refuse to drop to this establishments level and further make their racial stereotypes feel good to them and help them sleep at night. To the owner of this establishment I know you can see these reviews and will not reply to this one as you have not with all of the other very disturbing and asinine reviews left here in droves. I would like you to know i still left 25% to show you that only love can conquer hate. To all of my patrons and people deciding weather or not to eat here please go support restaurants and people who enjoy your presence not tolerate it and please do so with those who provide this to everyone no matter who you are. The food was very disappointing the bakery was the best part of the food experience. I did not request for anything to be removed off of the check because I will not give you the stereotype your looking for. The server removed the 2 entrées ordered without our request. Im sorry to all others who had bad experiences here do not let it ruin people for you. Lets all find some love these days and to the staff and owner we forgive you. I hope you find peace and love let some of that hate go life becomes...
Read moreDelightful food, coffee, pastries, and experience dining here! TBB122 is my new favorite place to go to in Alpharetta! From the moment you pull in to this beautifully restored old house in downtown Alpharetta, with a nicely-landscaped free parking lot with a beautiful, huge old tree, outdoor seating, it feels inviting before you even step in. Once inside, youâll be greeted by the friendly staff, and immediately fall in love with the decor and the pastries and fresh baked breads upfront. Our first visit was for brunch, and a young woman named Esther provided us with the most amazing and genuinely wonderful and friendly service that I have experienced in years! She also took care of the table next to us, and I could hear them, marveling at how wonderful she was. She was 100% knowledgeable about the menu items, and shared recommendations as it was our first time. The breakfast meals we ordered were excellent. The food was clean, fresh, cooked to perfection, and felt so healthy and filling the latte I ordered was delicious and a work of latte art. We were too full for dessert, but Iâve gone back twice just to order pastries to take home. I tried several, but my two favorites are the lavender short bread, cookies, and polenta tart-shaped pastry with fresh berries on top. (canât recall the name but itâs the only pastry with polenta). Iâve never had a polenta pastry before, and it was out of this world delicious, felt like I was eating something, healthy, and three weeks later Iâm still craving more! The decor and ambience is so inviting, clean, and enjoyable to spend time in this place. I love how it feels like a sustainable vintage building, and the inside garden courtyard will grow nicely as it matures, itâs next to their very clean restrooms! Looking forward to trying many more of their dishes and a regular supply of polenta and lavender pastries. I discovered TBB122 through a recommendation from the Atlanta Coffee Shops newsletter, because TBB122 partners with Alpharettaâs Valor Coffee, which Iâm a fan of. Hence, their coffee is superb at TBB 122 making this an outstanding new must-visit experience...
