Let me start off by saying that we have been going to smoke Jack since day one. While nothing is ever perfect this restaurant has been consistent, a great recommendation for friends and our go to barbecue joint down the street from our home. Today my family decided to take me there for Father’s Day after church. We arrived and put our name on the list and waited 10 minutes for our table. server was very friendly, and took our order right away. We ordered at 12:28 PM. Nothing extravagant two kids meals off of the kids venue and burnt ends and an order of chicken wings. The hostess stand sat the dining room way too quickly fuss causing a massive wave in the kitchen. We did not receive the first part of our food until 1:34 PM. I spoke to the server several times and he was very disheveled and apologetic, but said that the kitchen was completely in the weeds. then a young male manager with a 5 o’clock shadow came out to our table and said not to worry about the food he was taking care of the check. At this point, we had only received the kids meals which were both incorrect. They were given the wrong sides. We received our burnt ends , but still did not receive the chicken wings we ordered. It is now 1:48 PM and we still have not received our chicken wings. I approached several different servers to ask what was going on and I was told that they would be out as soon as they could. Meanwhile, tables next to us who had sat down after us were receiving chicken, wings and food. I’ve been in the hospitality/restaurant/hotel business for 30 years. when you get a wave in the kitchen, you take a step back and you orchestrate the food in the order that came in. You don’t send food out in bits and pieces because you don’t keep track of what the order is and whether or not it’s complete. I finally just asked for the check and a to go box and I told them not to worry about my meal. The server was very apologetic and brought me a bill for the full amount, including the chicken wings which we never received. I walked to the kitchen entrance , the manager who told us he was going to take care of the bill and we were told it was taken care of. The server apologized profusely. We insisted to still tip the server through Venmo. We tipped the server $50 just because he was completely sorry for the situation and you knew he was having a rough day. He offered for us to have the chicken wings to go because they had come up as we were getting ready to leave. Your manager told the server that we are not going to have the chicken wings because we didn’t pay for them. Remember, he offered us to pay for the bill because it took over an hour to receive our food then he tells us we can’t have the food that we ordered . The experience was embarrassing, unacceptable and completely disappointing. Needless to say, we will never return to smoke Jack, every executive chef, Food and beverage Director, restaurant owner that I know in the metro Atlanta area will hear about this experience. I had no intention to walk into your establishment and have free chicken wings. All I wanted was to eat my lunch for Father’s Day. Instead, we sat for one hour plus did not get all the food we ordered, and we’re told that we couldn’t have the food when it was ready , because you guys come to the Bill. Best of luck in the future with this...

This place was excellent!! My son and I had fried pickles and split the Holy trinity and had leftovers to take home. We order fried pickles at every restaurant we go to. I was not a fan of the sauce that came with them. Tasted like straight Mayo, weird never seen that before for those. The pickles are crispy and tasted great. Ask for the Ranch dressing instead. That stuff is magical. The Holy Trinity was outstanding!! The brisket was very good. Unless I am certain a place has great Brisket, I always order Moist. I think you could opt for lean here it was well cooked and super Juicy. Check out the rib picture. It was glistening and that was the dry rub. The rub is loaded with flavor and the ribs are smoked well. I am a huge sauce guy and barely used any which is rare for me with ribs. The smoked sausage may have been the star of the plate. Holy smokes!!! Great bite, juicy and an explosion of flavor. They had Cajun and Jalapeño Cheddar. I cannot decide which was better. I will definitely order those again. They have a great Carolina Mustard sauce. I was fully planning on putting on the sausages. It was main reason I ordered them. I didn't end up using any sauce because they were great with out it. The sides we ordered were Mac n cheese, potato salad, and baked beans. The plate comes with 4 but my son loves Mac n cheese so we got 2. It the has typical bbq style Mac n cheese with crispy crust. My son is insane and does not like the crust but he demolished the rest. The potato salad was the surprise of night. This was amazing. Not typical bbq potato salad. It was rich and flavorful. I would highly recommend. The baked beans was the only miss of the night. For as spectacular as everything else was, the beans were kind of plain. We will be back with the...

While visiting the area, we decided to stop by Smokejack BBQ in Alpharetta—and I’m so glad we did! We were tired and almost headed back to the hotel for dinner, but this experience made it totally worth it. The restaurant is very spacious, with a well-thought-out layout, wonderful decor, and a clean, welcoming vibe. They also have metered parking in the front and a parking lot in the back, making it super convenient!

Our server, Amy, was exceptional from start to finish! Friendly, personable, and patient, she guided us through the menu and made sure we got the best of what they offer. With her recommendations, we ordered:

• 16 oz Blue Moon • 6 Wings • Double Cheeseburger • 1/2 lb Burnt Ends Plate • French Fries • Potato Salad w/ Bacon • Banana Pudding

Everything was seasoned to perfection and packed with flavor! The mac and cheese and the potato salad with bacon were true standouts—some of the best I’ve ever had. Portions were generous without being overwhelming, leaving us stuffed yet somehow still making room for the banana pudding Amy suggested. It was creamy, decadent, and the perfect way to end the meal.

I’d highly recommend Smokejack BBQ to anyone in the area, and we’ll definitely be back. If we end up moving down here, I have a feeling this spot will be a regular go-to!

Next time, there are a few more items on my list to try: Cherry Smoked Old Fashioned, Collard Greens, Brisket, Smoked Pork Sausage, Smoked Boneless Chicken Thighs, Loaded Nachos with Brisket, Brunswick Stew, and...

Another BBQ spot found that's pretty darn good! Reason being is that this is the sister store to another BBQ restaurant I reviewed, Jacks Feed Store. For the long and short of it, go check that review out as the menu is VERY identical to that store. The main differences between the 2 stores is location of course and this store you get waited on with a server. Jacks Feed you pay, they drop your food off and you eat. That being said, since I've had a good portion of the menu already, this visit I decided to try some different items. I had the fried pickles, 6 smoked wings, and the brisket triple bypass fries with a sweet tea beverage. The person accompanying me had the Son of a Gunn meal and I was told it was all great. All popping on the food side except the wings. I personally thought they lacked flavor but they weren't bad. Service was a bit lackluster after the food was dropped off as we sat with empty cups for far too long but everything else was on point. I will 100% be back here or Jack's Feed Store BBQ. Can't go wrong either way unless you have a dining preference. This restaurant is located in the heart of Alpharetta. There is a free parking lot but spots during busy times are VERY limited. Due to this, folks either get creative with the parking or use the paid parking lot across the street but it's all shared with other locations nearby. If you need some decent BBQ in the Alpharetta area though, you can't go wrong with either restaurant. Check them out!
