Good day. I live at the Avalon, and thought we should try out the new place. I placed an online order with my oldest son, and once ready we headed down to the restaurant. When we arrived the lady at the front was on the phone, but apologised once she was off. We told her we were there to pick up an order. She went to the far right of the bar, picked up our food, and while standing next to my food said, you can pick up your Italian sodas at the bar since they still have to make them. Instead of her handing the bag to me or my son (grown man), she puts the bag on the bar, and says there you go, then walked back to her area. My son and I looked at the each other, like why couldn’t she hand us the bag. As we’re still trying to figure that out, we walk closer to the bar to get our drinks, and the lady is finishing up making them. She doesn’t look at us or says anything, and the drinks are in a drink tray. I hen pull the drinks to us, and ask are these for us, because it looks like she wasn’t going to hand them over or slide them over to us. As I asked her, she then says yes, gets a straw, then attempts to slide it over, as I’m already sliding them over. My son and I was like that was so weird, and didn’t understand...
Read morePer my husband’s recommendation, I took my mom here for lunch today. Unfortunately, I can’t say it was a positive experience.
We ordered 4 items:
Beef Salad ($23): I am not exaggerating when I say this is one of the worst dishes I have ever tasted. The beef was chewy and had absolutely no flavor. My mom kept on asking if maybe they forgot the sauce today because they were quite busy.
Shaken Beef (with fried rice) ($37): My mom wanted to count the number of pieces of beef. I believe she said there were 12 total. The beef was too sweet and dry for our liking. However, my mom commented that the onions were nice and crunchy. The fried rice was good.
Drunken Noodles (with shrimp) ($22): This tasted better than the other two dishes. My mom did not like it and thought it was too oily, but I liked it.
Sticky Rice Mango ($12): This was just okay. The mango was nice, but the sticky rice was too sweet for us. The coconut sauce was quite thin and didn’t taste especially good.
Service:
One of the servers was very nice while the other one seemed like she did not want to be there.
I don’t think I will visit again despite how beautifully decorated the...
Read moreAfter a long day, it was far too late to cook, so I finally tried Thai Candle Seafood & Bar. Truth be told, most Asian restaurants in Georgia have let me down, but this place surprised me in the best way possible.
The food? Delicious. The presentation? Like edible art, I almost felt bad ruining it with my fork… almost. I sat at the bar (because who really wants an uninvited third-wheel all the cozy dinner tables?), and it ended up being one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. Between bites, I found myself in conversations with a couple and a few interesting individual. Before I knew it, we were swapping stories, numbers, and even business opportunities.
So here’s my tip: if you’re single, sitting at the bar isn’t tragic, it might just be the best seat in the house. Here’s to good food 🍷🍤, hearty laughs 😂, and some unexpected networking 🤝 that made for a fantastic night. Thai Candle Seafood & Bar is a gem, and I’ll...
