I'm a lifelong fan of T flats. Ive been going since i was about 10. Now im in the military and its one of the things i look forward to the most when i visit my hometown. However, I have never had this poor of an experience at a Tijuana Flats or any other restaurant. I went into the restaurant and placed a carry out order. It took me about 30 mins to get home to my family. When I opened it I found the side of chips and queso to have been missing and the queso Blanco carnitas chimichanga I order was ground beef instead. I gave the wrong order to a family member so it didn't get wasted and I called the restaurant to ask if I could come get the correct one and the chips and queso. After a brief hold someone answered, I explained quickly, I was put on hold again then disconnected. I called again and this time I was given to the manager named Paul. When Paul answered his tone of voice was unfriendly before I began. I explained quickly what I was missing and the incorrect meal and after some clarification he asked me to bring in the incorrect chimi as proof. I told him I was very surprised he was demanding proof from a customer and that I gave it to someone so I wasn't wasted. He then, literally, sighed and then raised his voice to me telling me I can't expect him to believe me and remake it if I couldn't drive it back to the store. I asked him on that premise how I was to bring back and prove to him that I didn't get the chips and queso if there was nothing to bring. He then got irritated and yelled at me "are you being smart with me" are you being funny with me: if you want the food come back and ill make it myself" I asked you to bring it back because my chef lies a lot and ge will want to see proof that it was made wrong!" I told him if his chef lies a lot to get a new chef and to not yell at me when they got the order wrong on 2 accounts and all I asked for was if I could drive back and get the right thing. I then asked for his name and ended the conversation as I could tell he was very upset and nothing beneficial would come from continuing. I'm honestly still reeling from the fact that I was treated this way. Maybe I was wrong for not wanting the food to go to waste, and had it happened in restaurant I would have brought it to the counter and showed them. But even still the amount of disrespect I endured will likely end my 20 year relationship I've had with this company unless something is rectified. I have contacted corporate on the matter and i will update this review as pertinent.
Update on 5/10: Was contacted by a supervisor for the area named Carey (spelling?). He was very pleasant and was adamant about showing me that the experience I had was not the T Flats way. He explained to me his plan for rectifying the situation and compensated me for my experience. Review updated to 3 stars from 1. Carey was 5 stars but the initial experience was so bad I have to split the difference. To err is human but Carey did what he could to...
Read moreA few guys from the office and I went here for lunch on 4/1. I planed my order at 11:32am. The two other members of my group were served writhing ten minutes of placing the order. I continued to wait as I salivated while they finished their meals. Additionally, multiple people who ordered after me were served as well. The manager asked for my name to check on the food and never returned. When food was delivered it was incorrect and 34 minutes later. The manager, Manny, made some excuse of why 10 other orders of tacos made their way out of the kitchen and yet I still did not have my food. Terrible experience. To top it off, once I complained to Manny he attempted to refund me my purchase price. However, after looking at the receipt after leaving I was in fact not refunded, but another customer with the same name as me was. Even though I provided Manny with my receipt. I know this as a Visa card was refunded and I didn’t pay with a Visa Card.
Long story short, I never received my food however I received lip service and excuses. If you want tacos, 0 out of 10. If you want excuses and to be overlooked, they have what you’re looking for. I assure you I won’t come back and will encourage everyone I know to avoid this location...
Read moreOMG, what happened to this place. I think it must have new management, and it not working out. Tijuana .F is walking distance from my house, I have been going to this location for years. Been on a diet for a couple months so have not been until tonight. I ordered 2 tacos for Tuesday. One with no onions, and one with no jalapenos. They brought me two completely different tacos and each had different toppings. I tried explaining the error to the server and she could not grasp the issue, even though I showed her the tacos did not even look the same. One even had a layer of tomatoes smothering it had the other had no tomatoes at all. I gave up trying to fix the order and ate the dry, bland, horrible, mystery tacos. The staff was entirely new and none of them seemed interested in customer service. The service reminded me of a fish camp. I have the feeling something with management or franchising has changed. They got rid the good workers, those girls hustled, the food was good and it as packed on Tuesdays. It was empty tonight and I am not surprised. I won't be back for a long time, the food made me want to go back on my diet. You'll have to excuse me now, I am...
