Dolci di Anna — Restaurant in Alton

I was excited to book anna for my wedding on June 24th, 2022, but it didn’t go well. Her communication with me was seriously lacking. I had to call several times over the course of a few weeks and message her a few times before I EVER received a response. All the while… she was still posting on Facebook for her business and was not responding to me. My mom even messaged her about a groom’s cake and STILL hasn’t heard back. She said she would do all the set-up, and I asked if I needed to purchase anything, but she said no- but the set up was really poor and didn’t look pleasing to the eye. They were just literally all set up on the table, with nothing organizing them. I was really bummed. She was the only vendor I had to go out of my way to contact- and as a bride, it was a very stressful time of my life- and having to worry over the cake/baker not contacting me really stunk.

The cupcakes were okay (from what I heard from guests), but the cake did taste good. But if I could go back in time, I’d pick someone else. I’m really disappointed.

I ordered cookies for a baby shower, we sent pictures and they said they were able to do it. We sent in 3 pictures to reference and the cookies looked nothing like the pictures. Not only did they not look like the pictures they were very sloppy. The cookies were very thin and different shapes and sizes. It doesn't look like a cookie cutter was used and they were also falling apart. They were stacked on top of each other and the icing on some of the cookies were smeared. We called to tell them about this issue and they did give is a partial refund for the broken cookies. We wanted all of our money back but we would have had to return the entire order and would have had no cookies for the baby shower. We had a future or for another shower and canceled the order. I placed my order for Mason’s cupcakes and smash cake for his party at Dolci di Anna at least 2 weeks in advance. I picked them up yesterday and this is seriously what she tried giving me… the left are how 18 white cupcakes looked and the the right is how 18 of the chocolate cupcakes looked. They were only 1/4 full of cake in the chocolate ones & the white looked awful and were all dried out.. she never said anything to me about it and when I got to the car & opened the box I was literally speachless. Her excuse was “sometimes they don’t rise”. Needless to say I got all of my SEVENTY DOLLARS back that I paid for them.
