Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Altoona

I TRULY HOPE CORPORATE SEES THIS My 1st & LAST time at this location. On 10/17/24@11:40AM-1PM Arrived in the drivethru, ordered 12 piece bone in sweet/spicy wings. 2 piece spicy dark meat only and asking for 2 thighs. 4 spicy chicken sandwiches I specifically asked if I could have them made Hot/Fresh and that I didn't mind at all to wait for Fresh sandwiches. I was told the wait time for Fresh chicken sandwiches would be 7 minutes. After receiving my bag of food I asked if they could put hot sauce in the bag and was told the store is out. When I bit into my sandwich it was not even warm When I checked the other sandwiches they were not Hot and when I opened my box of 2 piece dinner I did not get my 2 thighs I got a leg and a breast Within 15 minutes I returned back with all the food with the exception of a half eatten chicken sandwich. When I got to the drivethru window It was the same girl she remembered my order and asked the guy who originally prepared my food if he would drop 4 Fresh chicken sandwiches this time. That man, then came to the window and tried to argue with me. I did not want to nor did I have the time to argue. I simply said, sir can you please just make my order how I ordered it please. He did not ask me to give back the the food that I originally was given but I wanted to give it back to them so I insisted they take it back. After he took it back he felt the wrapper and said these sandwiches don't feel cold and opened one of them and took a bite and said " Taste good to me"action should be visible to verify on their camera. RAY then advised me to pull forward and he would bring only 3 Fresh ones out to me bcoz I had already started to eat the one. I waited another 7 minutes then he came outside and handed me the same old cold 3 sandwiches. I said sir why would you try to give me these same 3 sandwiches after you have me sitting out here waiting another 7 minutes for what I already was suppose to have had Fresh the 1st time I was here in the drivethru? He said okay I'm going to bring you out 3 more chicken sandwiches and you can keep the old ones too. I said I do not want them even more after you took a bite. I swear I never been so disturbed by one person at an establishment. After waiting what felt like a life time he finally carried out 3 newly made fresh sandwiches. NO Apology or even appearing apologetic Once again I asked sir where is my receipt? He said " oh yea, I'll bring it back out." I then asked for his name bcoz he had no name tag on He then said I'm the Manager (RAY) I said wow I think I will call corporate and notify them of all this today He then proceeds to grab the 3 Freshly made chicken sandwiches out of my hands and said you can get your old sandwiches back now if you're just going to call CORPORATE anyway after I made the new chicken sandwiches for you. I was there and still can't belive this actually happened. I said my card was charged $46.16 I paid already so they are mine to have and so is proof of purchase so please give it back along with my RECEIPT. He said ok I'll bring it out. After waiting 10 more minutes I went inside, RAY was taking a family order at the front counter I waited until he finished up with them Then was going to ask him can I have my receipt now plz But before I could say that He asked me what are you doing there on your phone. Im not sure why he was concerned with what im doing in my phone. And not with trying to assist a customer with providing a simple receipt. I was actually trying to help him to bring up my text ALERT from Discover showing the exact total of purchase/time thinking maybe it would help him retrieve the receipt. But he stayed in the office and never came back out until police came inside. RAY THE MANAGER OF POPEYES IN ALTOONA, called them just a waste the police's time as well as mine. I Never got a Receipt I NEVER once asked for a Refund but when the police suggested that RAY refund my order if I return all food "RAY said No" I ended up throwing the entire bag of food in trash, what a waste time/money SMH POOR...

My wife and I love Popeye's. We love the food (think it's better than KFC), and holds a place dear in our hearts as it was the location of our first date. This location (Altoona, IA) is AWFUL. I hate saying it. It's closest to our house, so when we go for Popeye's this is the one that makes the most sense. The food is decent enough, but the service is TERRIBLE. We've had multiple waits of over 30 minutes. The orders are often wrong. The one time a manager tried to fix one thing and give us credit next time we came in, the working manager refused to accept it.

The last straw was today. It was over 30 minutes from our order before they finally asked what we had (it never wen to the back). They took our receipt and never gave it back. Then the fry box was only fractionally filled, and they insisted that was a "large". The box was. But it wasn't filled. When we got home (carry out order), we found our 12 piece mixed (always 3 of each in the past, and half our family only eats white meat) was all messed up. There were 3 thighs, 2 breasts (the most meat of course) and 6 legs. Not one wing. And look, the math only adds up to 11 pieces. So not only were 3/4 dark meat without a wing, we actually only had 2 pieces of white meat chicken. Another bee in my bonnet is that they NEVER TOLD US or asked us about substitutions. If they asked, we would have said, "no" or changed our order. They just went ahead and did it.

The customer service (beyond not asking about the substitution) was bad too. Instead of being kind for a long wait and lost order (heck, we've been to McDonalds where they've comped us items for it being a busy lunch hour, and I was at a Burger King where the person after me was given her food for free for waiting over 10 minutes), they were dismissive and unwilling to fill the fry box. In the middle of the afternoon, not a lunch or dinner rush.

In the past they have at least been apologetic about the wait. But I'm sorry, 3 strikes of 30 minutes or more, wrong orders, and now being dismissive and not giving us our 12 pieces of chicken......

If i could give it zero stars i would! I was in there today. When they didn’t give me all my food i paid for i had to show them my receipt. I wish that was the end of it! A lady was arguing with me after seeing my food what she had just given me and what was on the receipt telling me she had already given me my food. After i told her calmly she still hasn’t given me all my food she had to read the receipt multiple times to finally understand o she hadn’t given me all my food. Then she finally gave me the rest of my order! O you would think that would be the end of my story! Its not while we sat there and ate the people that ordered right after us didn’t receive some of their order for over fifteen mins they waited and that lady got upset with the manager wanting their food or a refund and the manager told the lady she can go on with all that complaining shes wasn’t having it. So i got to hear that lady and the manager fight about food or a refund for over five mins the lady waited i don’t know if she was still waiting for food or if she got a refund but after my family all got sick with the runs immediately after leaving the restaurant I’m wondering if my food wasn’t sabotaged or just old been sitting there for a long time! my whole experience with this place is over! I wont be going back to Popeyes the food I thought was good gave us all food poisoning and the manger and the lady that took our order need to be fired or sent back to training class! This is exactly why fast food is in decline and people aren’t even going out anymore we dont want to fight with people to get what we order! After we pay for food that prices are going up but the quality of the food isn’t and neither is the service when people cant read receipts that took your order three mins ago and wont give you what you paid for! Or they poison you when you have a problem with them not doing their job right! I hope the gm fires everyone in that store! Kids could do...
