My husband and I attempted to go to Neat tonight for New Year's Eve. We entered the building and stood waiting in the middle of the entry room for long enough to feel quite awkward. There are no signs stating that patrons should seat themselves, so we waited patiently for someone to inform us of how best to proceed. Multiple servers passed us, made eye contact, and we were ignored by all. We were disregarded to the point that my husband and I both thought that maybe we had entered a private event. I ended up going to the bar area to ask if the seats were available to anyone or if we needed to wait to be seated. As I waited to get details from the bartender, all of the seats that were available when we walked in had filled. My husband and I decided that this bar did not merit our patronage due to their lack of common courtesy. As we left, one of the servers that had previously noticed us, yet neglected to help, followed us outside and said that we could sit outside if we would like. It was 54 degrees outside at the time. I am hoping it was not our more casual attire that caused presumptions on the staff's part regarding our belonging in the establishment or our financial status. All of this to say, we will never spend our money here. The drinks could never be good enough to make up for the treatment we received tonight. I would consider passing this place up and going somewhere more warm, considerate,...
Read moreOur initial encounter with neat was amazing, a very pleasant young lady went far out of her way to obtain some limes for us and we found some delicious bitters made back in Colorado. We were excited to come back and try some of their cocktails later that night. Unfortunately, that's where the excitement ended. Memorial day Sunday, after the evening fireworks we stopped by to try out their drinks with a group of 6. We showed up at 9:25, thinking we had enough time for one drink as they close at 10. Neat was fairly busy at this time with several groups scattered about and a number of people at the bar. We came in and sat down by the bar and were promptly told they were closed. We're very disappointed and taken back by the rudeness of the staff member. One of the other patrons immediately asked when they closed and the staff member even said 10 o'clock. Not sure why they closed their doors early, or why they would turn away business, especially on such a busy night in Alys Beach. I guess if you go, don't show up at...
Read moreWe got there at 9:30 and according to google closed at 10 only to be informed it was last call. Then reminded by the red headed waiter not once but three times. We decided to buy a bottle of wine at 9:36 so we would not inconvenience the staff. We went into the wine room and was asked by the red headed female attendant what kind of wine we liked. We told her cab and blend along with two major names. She reminded us they were having last call. I said well recommend a type she said well i need to know what type of wine you like. I said well we have already told you that. After that i decided to leave but my party decided to remain only to decide to leave because the female attendant continued to rush. All this happened before closing. We decided to leave the overpriced wine store because of the lack of service, lack of attentiveness, and the rudeness by the female attendant. I would rather anyone go elsewhere for a decent experience and without a doubt a...
