Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen — Restaurant in Amarillo

We've went there for multiple outings and while the food was good, multiple times it has come out wrong. Some of the incorrect items were ordered with no modification and some were with modifications, so it's not specific to the server or the kitchen, but overall an inconsistent experience and delivery of service.

Regardless of the inconsistent service the management staff was usually pretty good at resolving, but twice we were unable to get ahold of a manager. We tried having the server send them over, and waited entirely too long, and then followed-up by calling and waited for over 15 minutes on the line with no answer from a manager still.

And finally, for our last outing we decided that we wanted to eat here, this time with a much larger group. Now typically they do not do reservations, and that makes perfect sense; however, during lunch time when somebody would like to reserve a section for 35 people, you would expect a restaurant to fulfill that reservation, as it's a business outing at lunch time we are held to a tighter time frame and typically with a large group like this restaurants don't appreciate a walk in. The host (or whoever answered the phone) wouldn't make a reservation for that amount of people and refused to get a manager to assist in the reservation.

All in if you are looking for a quick meal with higher quality than fast food, and aren't expecting restaurant level service and still ok with fast food level service (inconsistent service and quality of food) than this is a good place to go. My husband and I just had the worst dining experience ever! I ordered the "7 oz most tender steak" that was dry and not very tender. I would hate to see what the less tender steaks were like. I ordered a salad to go with it-that I never got. My husband ordered the salmon and shrimp meal with a salad and southern green beans. He told the waitress that he is allergic to onions and asked if the green beans had onions in them. She said there wasn't any in there. Then she told him they had no shrimp, so he had to peruse the menu again and decided to have just the salmon. The sauce that came with it was full of onions, which he didn't know until he poured it over the salmon. Needless to say, he never got his salad either. When we told the waitress that things were not right, she sent the manager Amanda over who could ony say yes sir, even when he told her it was a good way to lose customers. Another waiter, Enrique, came to check on us and we explained to him about our meals not being right. He offered to get our salads to go, but we were ready to just leave at that point. He went to get the check and came back to explain that he removed y husband's meal and took off the salads that we never got. At this point he was doing the manager's job of trying to placate us. So we went here for dinner today and my food was terrible. Our server was ok but nothing spectacular. We got the cheese fries app and the fries were crunchy and hard. The cheese tasted like wax and was hard to eat. My dates food came out ok, a bit dry but bbq sauce fixed his ribs. I ordered the New Orleans pasta and when it came out the noodles were so dry and chewy so I asked for extra sauce and then I got to the shrimp. The shrimp had been cooked way to long it looked like old bacon. I told the server and asked if I could get something different. I went with a monte Christo because I mean surely you can’t mess up a sandwich. This lady came over to ask why I didn’t like the pasta, never introduced herself so I’m not sure who she was I’m assuming a manager? She stood there and rolled her eyes while I was trying to explain what was wrong then just walked away. The sandwich came out and it had been rushed as it was not cooked all the way through and was super doughy.
