Standard run-of-the-mill Chili's. Nothing fabulous or cringeworthy to note from this visit. I'd give it 4.327 stars were it not for the following:
There was no one to greet or seat me when I arrived half an hour after the globally recognized and generally accepted "Lunch Hour." The waiter (in what eventuality became my area) spotted me standing at the front, waiting, as soon as he emerged from the kitchen with an entire table's order of under-seasoned and over-hyped caloriemines. He sat me as he was able and then proved himself to be fantastic at his job.
The food arrived as I'd ordered it, except that I've never ordered hamburger with a searing hot patty sandwiched between a cool hamburger bun. Back in the expanse of the vast kitchen of The Chili's on Coulter, they obviously keep the beef stored in the 5th Circle of Hell, but the buns are kept cool in the shade of grandfatherly Evergreen that has grown tall in the moist presence of a moutain side waterfall that feeds the overgrowth of The Shaded Forest of Cool Temperatures. Quite the contrast!
Finally, the food tasted great, aside from the unsweet tea lacking definition and the Southwest Chicken soup requiring salt in order to exist in more than one dimention. Additionally, the press-to-open cap on the salt shaker keeps the salt clean and sanitary inside the shaker, but also makes it difficult to actually get salt applied to the food.
So, as expected, there was nothing fabulous or cringeworthy to note from my visit to this standard run-of-the-mill Chili's. Thanks for...
Read moreEach of the last two times we have placed a to go order at this Chili's, we have returned home to find that one of our sides is missing. I understand that mistakes happen, but two times in a row? I even paid an upcharge for the side salad that was not included.
Additionally, the steak my wife ordered well done is medium at best.
That is not to mention the time before these aforementioned trips when I sat in the to go pick up area for ten minutes after checking in online, at about 2 p.m. when they weren't busy at all, and eventually got impatient and went inside and got my own food. It was at that point that an employee finally appeared and interrogated me about whether or not the food was mine. It's like he thought I was stealing it. Everytime we eat here, there's some sort of issue. It's happened three times in a row, so it is a pattern now.
I don't feel I can trust this Chili's anymore. I shouldn't have to check to make sure everything is there before leaving, and am I supposed to cut the steak in the parking lot to check that, too? My wife is livid, as it was her side item that was forgotten both times (and her undercooked steak). The last time I drove back up there and got the side. I don't think I'll even bother this time, because I have a million other things to do, which is why I placed a to go order in the first place. We will not be eating at this Chili's again. Don't waste your customer's time! Get the order right! Is it that hard to read a ticket?! Seriously, y'all, this...
Read moreThis location has historically had staffing problems but we like the food. The experience we had yesterday was SO BAD I thought I'd share it. We ordered an appetizer and then ordered an entrée. The appetizer took way longer than usual and when it arrived they also brought our entrée. We asked the girl that brought it to our table (not our waitress) if she would bring us some plates (you should NEVER have to ask for plates) and they never arrived. So we flagged down someone else and asked AGAIN for plates and some salt. When we finally got plates we realized our appetizer was perfect and the chicken was barely warm. Our waitress FINALLY came back to check on us and we gave her a recap of the ridiculous episode we went through to have lunch. She gave us an excuse and offered to get us another order of chicken but we declined. Then she had the "manager" come to our table and she offered to "comp" SOME of our ticket which was nice. After inspecting the ticket we still owed 2 bucks and some change which also made no sense. There was nothing on our ticket that cost 2 bucks. In my opinion if your going to "comp" 22 bucks on a 24 dollar ticket why not just "comp" it all? We frequent this Chili's often but it will be a while before we return! ...
