If I could give 0 stars, I would. This location has terrible customer service and/or bad management. Let me preface this by saying I am a manager in retail. Important SOP: customer service - 1 is greet customers as quickly as possible. The morning of January 2, 2023- 6 employees: 2 at the drive thru window, 2 at the espresso machine, 2 tasking. Store virtually empty for a Monday morning. 1 customer working on a lap top, 1 sitting drinking coffee, a couple with a toddler. Total: 5 people. NOT 1 employee greeted us (me and SO). Ever. It appeared none of the employees wanted to be there and were very unhappy. I understand being involved with task at hand but there is no excuse for no greeting (or no pleasant demeanor) when there were so few people in the store. We waited a few minutes with no " we will be right with you." Finally an employee came over for our order, no greeting, no smile. Our order was simple- 2 Venti black coffees but could they put coffee in our Stanley cups with extra hot water. We also said if not, due to Covid restrictions, we understand. The employee looked like she had never heard this before. She honestly looked like she didn't know what to do or say. After hesitating, she asked an employee working the machine who shrugged (on an aside, we are assuming this employee, a brunette, was possibly the manager, she at one point rolled her eyes at my SO, not good managing). My SO said just give us the coffee and water in cups, and we will pour the coffee in ourselves. Employee never asked which blend we wanted. She automatically gave us Pike. Paid with gift card. No receipt was offered. The employee executing our order was unfriendly and uncommunicative. She placed the coffee where orders are picked up. Forgot the water went back to retrieve it. My SO grabbed his coffee and it hit a graphic on the counter that is peeling up and coffee spilled on counter and hit his arm and burned him. NOT 1 employee acknowledged this even happened! I wiped it up (not my job). We finished pouring our coffee and water at a table.
It felt like the employees resented the fact we were in the store. It is a service job. If you are not happy, don't work in the service industry. This store is obviously not under good management and employees have poor training. It is not enough to brew coffee, make drinks and heat up food. Employees should understand there is more to the job: CUSTOMER SERVICE. If an employee is having a bad day, not important. The job entails being friendly, courteous and making a customer feel welcome (no matter what).
As we were leaving, my SO walked by the service counter and said to the employees this was a very unfriendly place and we would not be returning.
In the future, we will be going to a different Starbucks location. One that is always a standout is the location on Canyon...
Read moreThis is the best Starbucks I have ever been to. It’s not even the drinks that set them apart, it’s the sincerity and kindness of the staff. One person, Emily in particular was so sweet. I was taking an exam here and let them know before hand that it might be 10 pm on the dot before I leave and to apologize in advance but I would not stay later. They were genuinely nice about this which made me wanna get out of there as quickly as possible. It was 10 on the dot and Emily approached me and I thought I was gonna be told to leave so I apologized but they insisted they make me a drink on house and wished me a safe drive. Read moreAs an avid lover of all things coffee, I typically stick to the local coffee joint anytime I’m traveling to have a new experience or to just spend my money on a more local level, yet this was the closest coffee shop to me while I was visiting town, I have to say, it was overall a great experience. We noticed the line was fairly long and had time to park and sit for a bit. The staff was very friendly, greeted me with a smile, helpful and welcoming.
